Troublesome Times In Tumbleson County

The bank had been robbed. Deputy Charlie Parcell was dead. The Eden Cafe had been temporarily closed on the account of copious amounts of blood on the tables and floor. It's just wasn't shaping up to be Sheriff Ferguson's day. To make matters worse, Bobby-Jack's brush with an anachronistic viewing of Ben-Hur at the Plantation Movie House in Jubilation had spurred him on to turn some junkyard refuse and Sweetie the Mule into his own personal chariot. While Zenobia and Sam tried to help Horace piece together the details of the Herons' bank heist, Wee Humphrey was out trying to find a good spot to bury his bumper... and that's not a euphemism for anything. All of these events are about to collide and, when they do, you'll believe mules can fly.

Our troublesome Tumblesonians had made some grisly discoveries out in the woods beyond Tumbleson and came face-to-face with a little more Harmon family history than they cared to know about. Escaping from the trap set by Mother Harmon, still very grotesque and very much on the loose, as well as a gruesome opossum-like creature deep underneath the Harmon family homestead, most of the group made it back to Youngtown just in time to get caught in the crosshairs of bank robbers in the middle of a getaway from Tumbleson General Savings and Loan. What will the fearless citizens of God's country find when day breaks over the arid landscape that is the purported land of milk and honey? Buckle up, because it's gonna be a wild ride.

It had started out like any other normal day in Youngtown - Zenobia and Sam were sharing pie recipes with the new owner of the Hotel Masada, Bobby-Jack and Wee Humphrey were running down to the Eden Cafe to fetch a snack, and Sheriff Ferguson was investigating the arson/double-murder at the Harmon Brothers Barbershop. A perfectly normal day indeed. However, when something sinister in the woods outside of town began to beckon Wee Humphrey, it didn't take long for things to go completely awry. What horror has the group stumbled upon in the forest? Will they survive? And, assuming they do, do their troubles end there? This episode is proof positive that, sometimes, you're just better off leaving well enough alone.

The Harmon Brothers Barbershop is gone, but that doesn't mean trouble in Youngtown has gone with it. Horace Ferguson is back and on the case and he's having to answer to a lot of people jawing with him over the arson/murder - in one case, quite literally. But it's not the ashes of the barber shop that everyone should be concerned with - there's something lurking out in the woods with much more sinister plans in mind.

Bobby-Jack, Wee Humphrey, Zenobia, and Samantha were all drawn to the Harmon Brothers Barber Shop after Miss Wesson's third-eye sensed something awful going on behind the blue-and-red-striped barber pole. The quartet staked the place out after hours and, though signals were crossed, it was apparent that all was not what it seemed. The truth, however, is about to be revealed and, when it does, the Tumblesonians are in for a close shave with evil.

A lot has happened to our... heroes... and just when it appears that everything was getting wrapped up with a nice little bow on top, someone had to go ahead and burn down the Harmon Brothers Barber Shop. And by "someone", we'll let you guess as to who's holding the match. But before you get the impression that folks around Tumbleson are all about the arson, there's a perfectly good reason why - you just need to keep your third eye peeled to see it.

They say every dark cloud has a silver lining and, in the Conerlys' case, the sting of the loss of young Loresha has been offset by the survival of her baby boy, Charlie. However, as Zenobia and Samantha have found out after coming face-to-face with the tiny tot, silver linings are still attached to dark clouds. Esau Conerly has asked them, along with Bobby Jack and the visiting Alexander St. John, to handle a delicate situation surrounding the father of the little... ahem... monster. The question is - what reptile would they rather deal with: gators or snakes?

Back in Youngtown, an oustider has rolled back into town in his Ford Model A and Bobby Jack, for one, couldn't be happier to see him. Penny-dreadful-writer Alexander St. John (special guest: Daniel Freeman) has come back through Tumbleson to bring his latest batch of "literature" to Albreicht's Books and Bible and to do a little investigating on the strange things happening on both sides of the river. But, when he accompanies Bobby Jack, Zenobia, and Sam out to the Conerly's Gator Farm to lay Loresha Conerly to rest, he gets a bit more than he bargained for... and almost bit in the process.

Sheriff Ferguson and Agent Grey have managed to infiltrate a very exclusive... and very peculiar... auction where items attached to horrible crimes are bid on by collectors more interested in the power the items carry than the items themselves. The problem with Horace and Simon trying to fit in amongst these elites is that... well... they're Horace and Simon. Before you could say "peach cobbler pomade", they found their clever ruse falling apart at the seams. Can they keep up the charade long enough to score the ultimate item up for bid - Otis Lee's getaway car - or will their heads end up on the auction block?

Sheriff Horace Ferguson and IRS Revenue Agent Simon Grey have arrived in New Orleans following a lead on the whereabouts of serial killer Otis Lee's Chrysler sedan - a key piece of evidence against the man known as The Rambler that has gone missing. The information has led them to an auction house on the southwest side of New Orleans, but upon arrival, all is not what it seems. Will our local law enforcement come away with a huge find or will they end up bidding on nothing but trouble?

All hell has broken loose at the Plantation Cinema in Jubilation, Not-Louisiana where the feature presentation has captivated the audience... a little TOO much, to be honest. When the moviehouse started going to the dogs, and by that we mean everyone inside watching "Werewolf by Night" literally started to embrace their inner canine, the patrons started getting rounded up and dragged off by a group of unknown assailants. Now, Wee Humphrey has bolted from the theater, chasing after his captured pack-mates, leaving Zenobia and Bobby Jack behind to handle the aftermath. Will this scene have a happy ending or have our heroes reached the end of their script?

With Horace and Simon on their way to New Orleans, attention turns back to Tumbleson where Bobby Jack has made himself a new, if not incredibly peculiar, four-legged friend. When the Irish wolfhound known as Wee Humphrey turns out to be more than just man's best friend, Bobby can't wait to teach him some new tricks which, apparently, includes a trip across the river to Jubilation to take in a matinee with Zenobia as their chaperone. Surely nothing can wrong when you have you popcorn and cartoons, right?

Horace and Simon had managed to convince the mysterious Madame Marie Laveau to aid them in their search for the missing car of Otis Lee, a.k.a. The Rambler, who still currently sits in the Tumbleson County jail awaiting murder charges for the grizzly death of the son of the Governor of Not-Mississippi. The Queen of the Southern Winds has provided the lawmen with a hoo-doo-enhanced compass and needle that will supposedly lead them in the right direction. The question is - what awaits the Sheriff and Federal Agent where the needle points?

Sheriff Ferguson and Revenue Agent Grey had joined forces to track down the whereabouts of the missing car linking famed serial killer Otis Lee to the grisly death of the Governor's nine-year old son - a pact that sent the both of them across the Old Man River to the Devil's Backyard to seek the help of the Queen of the Southern Winds herself, Madame Marie Laveau. What they found, however, was anything but helpful. Having survived an ambush by Horace's own kin, the two must now try to piece back together the rum-running Thibodeaux boys... quite literally... in order to get the information they need to track down Laveau and ask... well... beg... for her help in the case.

In the aftermath of Baird Taggert's untimely demise, things around Tumbleson County have gone back to... well... what passes for normal in Not-Mississippi anyway. In between baseball, a bank holiday, and business deals, the biggest story around Youngtown is the recent capture of serial killer Otis Lee, also known as the Rambler - but it's not his capture that's making news. Instead, it's the peculiar lack of action against Mr. Lee, who is as guilty as they come, that has the town in a tizzy. Rumor has it that the investigation has gone awry and no one involved, county, state, or federal, wants to take the blame or point a finger. Fortunately, however, Tumbleson's two "top" law enforcement agents have stepped into help... and stepped into a whole heap of trouble in the process.

Bobby Jack, Agent Grey, Sheriff Ferguson, Zenobia and Samantha had returned Baird's remains to the Taggart homestead and, while Bobby Jack volunteered to sit and keep guard over what was left of the corpse, the others tried to figure out exactly who... or what... had worked its way around the wards put in place and came after Baird. But before anyone could get to the bottom of anything, all hell broke loose, literally, when Bobby Jack inadvertently let in a malicious spirit through an uncovered mirror in the Taggart's root cellar. Now, the team must band together to survive this latest threat if they want to figure out just how troublesome things are getting in Tumbleson.

The citizens of Youngtown have banded together to battle the evil water elemental that killed poor Baird Taggart in his bathtub as he scrubbed away the weekly grime from between his toes. Agent Grey's methodology, however - drinking in said water elemental - does rather leave something to be desired. Can the group keep Simon from drowning in his own poor judgment and, if so, find out exactly what happened to Baird back at the Taggart homestead? The answer may just be staring back at you.

Tragedy has struck the lowly Taggart family in the most unlikely of places. When they find their eldest son, Baird, dead in the tub after his weekly bath, Bobby-Jack McGee is called in to help carry the body to the town doctor. However, an ill-advised detour has now put the citizens of Youngtown in harm's way as Baird's death is anything but accidental. Prepare to be "ribbited" to your seat as Sheriff Horace Ferguson, Zenobia Albreicht, FBI Special Agent Simon Grey, Samantha Wesson, and Bobby-Jack work together to save the town... and themselves.
