Dashing Digressions

After a week's hiatus, ya boys are back. This week, the guys have a chat about suicide then lay out the "McConaughey Divergence." Pete divulges his dating habits and Dane gives some editing tips, before going into this week's edition of Dane's LAME about John Hughes.

A State of the Union type deal. Also, Dane pours his heart out a little.

We're back and we're safe, thanks for your concern! This week the guys discuss Harvey a bit, but quickly feel out of their depth so move on to goofier topics. Dane's LAME covers the live action TMNT movies, and Pete's recent readoption of Skyrim makes him consider world-building. Also, somehow Silent Hill sneaks in there.

This week is all about The Defenders. We promised we'd do it and we have! Starting off with a spoiler-free discussion then leading into full analysis, we're all in. Also, it seems Pete has a bit of a thing for Krysten Ritter and Dane for Sigourney Weaver.

In this week's episode, we introduce a new segment: Dane's Loquacious Assessment of Multiple Entries! And Dane decided to start off big by rewatching the entire septology of the Saw franchise! Scores abound! Elsewhere the guys discuss stand-up comedy, and things get weird with Game of Thrones.

Things are as loose as they've ever been on this episode. The guys talk about sexy vampires and Harry Potter deviants, then elsewhere they direct the movies of their lives. Pete's going to win an Oscar and Dane wants to scream in the rain.

A host of trailers got released... The Defenders, Justice League, Ready Player One, Thor Ragnarok, Stranger Things... And rest assured, we have some thoughts. Elsewhere, Pete stresses over mishearing and Dane reconsiders his avatar.

Another episode, more changes. This time we're foregoing the topic format and being a little more loose with the show. Along the way we discuss Tom Cruise and Dr. Who. Pete wants to be left alone, Dane can't remember names, and the pair struggle with productivity.

This one is from our backlog, so the timing is a little off, but certain circumstances prevented us from making anything worthwhile for you guys this week. Sorry to get kind of meta on you guys, but hey, that's what the episode is about! We talk about what meta is and how we interact with it, and then start gushing about a certain artist that is so meta she really pops.

In this episode of Dashing Digressions, Pete and Dane get much too giddy over the new Spider-Man: Homecoming. The ghost of Iron Fist is laid to rest. And wouldn't you know it, Squirrel Girl makes a come back. All this and more in.... Dashing Digressions! We need to talk!

This unusual episode features a raw and largely unedited discussion about life's lack of meaning, the futility of a positive outlook, and recognizing your flaws and shortcomings. And if you hang out until the end, Pete gives us a lovely story about his habits, post-coitus. It's quite a ride.

Pete and Dane examine their tendency for negativity, in a discussion about the nature of review and critique. Also, Pete's just nuts about a new character.

This week, the guys, coming off the back of E3, have a few thoughts on the nature of hype. Elsewhere, there are some arguments about Pokemon and console naming conventions. Also, Pete has some things to say about Danny Rand's haircut.

This week, Dane and Pete have some thoughts on a book they finished together. The Freakonomics guys provide a fantastic collection of articles with When to Rob a Bank. From orange juice and shrimp to education and law enforcement, it's quite the ride. And what's that Dane said about prostitution? We're hitting the books so you don't have to!

The guys discuss some of their favorite post-apocalyptic media (and totally miss their chance to bring up Wall-E). Pete has flashbacks of his childhood, and Dane gushes about Nier: Automata for a while again.

Pete and Dane kick it off with a basic intro of what you can expect from the episodes, then discuss a foray into Pathfinder. There's a touch of horror in the sound of Hush, a lot of hype for the Netflix Marvel series', and Dane goes off on existentialism in NieR: Automata. A rousing start!
