At times we can feel cornered, tested, pushed beyond our limits, and life feels like one big fight… because it is! In the bible, its called, faith! In this message, we learn lessons from the story of Gideon on how to fight by faith.

The reason why God calls us to love our neighbors is because He wants to build bridges that facilitate healing and bring people far apart together.

If we are going to love our neighbors, we must be willing to serve them sacrificially. When we refuse to love our neighbors, we sacrifice them to the possibility of missing out on an encounter with God. If we are going to love our city and allow God to use us to love our neighbors, we must get over our biases. We all have biases. We choose relationships based on biases; some of us choose where we live based on biases; choose the churches we attend based on biases. In God’s family, there is no bias because everyone needs God. Since this is the case, we cannot choose whom we love based on their background, skin color, economic status, political views, social standing, gender, ethnicity, agreement/disagreement with our beliefs, and appearance – BECAUSE GOD WANTS THEM TO BE A PART OF HIS FAMILY TOO.

Oftentimes when it comes to acts of service and expressing the love of God, we go for them in moments. Some of us do it out of duty, for an emotional high, or out of obligation. In this message, we examine a parable and see that there are three types of people: Robbers, Religious People, and the One Who Loves. Which neighbor are you? Which neighbor do you commit to be from this day forward?
