Abraham, is learning very quickly that his new God would not tolerate his old ways of worshiping the moon god. He used to pay tribute to the moon god but in this passage we see Abraham now gives to the LORD because he wants everyone to know that he no longer worships the moon god, he worships the Most High. Abraham, enters Egypt to save his family. But he is so afraid for his life that he gives his wife to the Pharaoh! The wife who was to bear a son that God promised would bless all the nations! Not the stereotypical picture of father Abraham. But we have fear too. What can we learn from this man of faith about our own fear?

Abraham, as the first disciple, worships by building an altar. But there's more going on here than piling up stones. Abraham worships the Lord by waging war on the gods of the land he arrived in.
