Jo Ann and Stacy Show Palau Episode 5
17/03/2005 Duração: 31minHello Again! Survivor moved to a new night and it was certainly a show full of surprises. The only thing we weren't suprised by this week was that Ulong managed to lose another challenge. :) There are a couple of operational changes to mention on our show this week too. First, I've been experimenting with the audio settings quite a bit lately, but I'm going to forgo the quest to eliminate the noise for now and just learn to live with that hissing sound in the background. I tried to remove it last week and didn't realize until I had already posted the show that it had some strange affect and created echos and some other audible oddities. We're going to switch the text portion of the update over to a slightly different format too. We aren't really getting any participation on the show :(, so I decided that I'll use this section to post the show notes, a brief guide to what we're saying when in the podcast. From what I understand while listening to Adam Curry on his Daily Source Code podcast, it'll be impo

Jo Ann and Stacy Show Palau Episode 4
11/03/2005 Duração: 29minGreetings Survivor Fans! It's Thursday night and time for our our fifth show. First, we're both thrilled that Ulong finally did something as a team and gave Kim the boot! How do lazy people like that get cast to be on the show? I guess she fooled quite a few people along the way and really knew how to say just the right things to be selected. I bet she put more effort into getting chosen for the show than she did while she was there on the island. We came across a really interesting Survivor site this past week that we wanted to share with you. If you've ever thought you might want to be a contestant on the show you'll want to check it out. It's called Pygmy Island. The tag line is, "Out Write, Out Tape, Out Cast". It's dedicated to helping you prepare the best audition tape and interview to get you on the show. People who have applied for the show share their experiences. There was one really detailed account that we both enjoyed reading that described the trials and tribulations of a woman that almost mad

Jo Ann and Stacy Show Palau Episode 3
04/03/2005 Duração: 32minHello Survivor Fans! We're back again with our fourth show focusing on episode 3 of Survivor Palau. This was a classic episode in that one of the characters that we both wanted to get the boot survived, and a strong but injured player left the game too early. That appears to happen all too often in this game. There was a small improvement in the editing of the show this week thanks to a short reward challenge. We actually get to hear Ibrehem talk this time. It was nice to see a few more interactions back in camp. Did anyone else think there was a chance that Tom or Ian could kill a shark with a sharp stick? :) Speaking of Koror, there's some obvious problems brewing there between Cayrn and Katie, but they managed to avoid having to thin the tribe again due to their strong overall teamwork. I bet they will not have any problems deciding who leaves if they ever do end up at tribal council. Did anyone else think that was a particularly crappy reward for this week's reward challenge? How is sewing gear and som

Jo Ann and Stacy Show Palau Episode 2
25/02/2005 Duração: 28minHi Again! Here's our third show that looks back at episode 2 of Survivor Palau. This season is progressing well, but we're conerned that we don't get to see more of the human interactions. The producers appear to have decided to focus more on the action events for this season. The "in camp" segments seem short, fragmented, and a few survivors don't appear to be getting any air time at all. The challenges continue to be more difficult than most of the events we have seen in the past. It looks like voting off the weaklings is the best route to go if this keeps up. Our accuracy for picking the next person voted off took a turn for the worse this week. Neither of us picked the person that got voted off, but it appears from her parting comments that she was ready to leave. So, the show's good and keeping us entertained and adding the whole podcast aspect has been a big boost to the fun factor. Truth be told, we are having as much fun creating these shows as we are watching the TV show. This last week was extra

Jo Ann and Stacy Show Palau Episode 1
18/02/2005 Duração: 20minHello Survivor Fans! Survivor is back and and it started off with a zinger of an opening. Two contestants booted out within the first 15 mins of the show in a way that makes us think back to embarrasing scenes on the playground in grade school. I have to admit that I was surprised that one of the young and beautiful was dismissed so quickly. Not a single one of my picks from the premiere show was accurate, while Jo Ann nailed one of hers on the first call and her other two looked poised to go next should their team lose immunity. Our first impression of Jolanda was fairly accurate. She did turn out to be too brash for her own good. Of course you can never tell with how things get edited. We never see the whole story do we? :) Listen to the show and let us know what you think. I'm sure we'll be talking about this at work tomorrow. We would love to hear your views on the first episode too. The easiest way to respond is just to click on the comment link. If you prefer email, you can reach us at: Jo Ann and

17/02/2005 Duração: 50minHi everyone! This is our premiere show and we're glad you stopped by to check it out. You can listen to the show by clicking on the POD icon or on the JASS20050215.mp3 filename down below. We really enjoy watching the TV show Survivor and thought it might make a good centerpiece for a weekly show. Each week after a new episode airs, we'll record our view of what happened and include predictions and hopefully responses from you too. See if you agree with our predictions for who the first three to leave the show will be. Our first episode focuses on our impressions of the contestants for Survivor Palau from reviewing their pictures and brief descriptions on the website. We had fun offering our opinions on what each contestant's chances might be based solely on first impressions. Our next show should be out Friday after the first TV episode airs.
