Rochelle is a volunteer Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities. She shares how her son struggled over a decade ago with addiction and ran from her. She talks about the kindness that was extended to him by strangers that kept him going and how it inspired her to give her time to help someone else’s son or daughter. She speaks of being a witness to people’s transformation and being a “cake lady” who brings desserts on the first Tuesday of every month to share.

Dominique P. is an alumni of the Naomi Family Program. She shares her story and how she heard about the program. She notes that other places she looked for help didn’t have the programming she needed for her and her four boys at the Naomi Family Program. Naomi speaks to the 20 years long abusive relationship she experienced and the family members she lost in a short amount of time. She also shares how Naomi Family Program helped her with more than housing but also provided support in a path to addiction recovery. Heidi Hall is the Program Director at Naomi Family Program. The Naomi Family Program provides provide holistic, wraparound support for women in crisis who are facing homelessness, abuse or addiction. Heidi how rewarding it is being a “little blip” on a woman’s journey with her family and to witness their resilience. She and Chad also touch on the incredible challenge it is to transform oneself and how they support women who are doing their best to take care of their children.
