Soul Circle Radio Mix Series Vol.24 Gyvus (Louisiana, USA) @gyvus I've been producing music off and on for many years before deciding to take the hobby seriously around 2014. My inspirations were mainly 90's Trip-hop/Downtempo artists like Zero 7 and Air and later Hip-hop producers like J Dilla and Nujabes. I had been sending tracks around for a few months before connecting with Chillhop in late 2014 and have been releasing my music with them ever since. This mix has some Chillhop Records favorites from the past year or so along with some classic Downtempo and Lo-fi. Overall super chill and soulful, but picks up the pace in a couple of spots. Sat 1/20/18 Illa J + Frank Nitt Show 196 Show 196 features 2 of Detroit's finest, the one any only, Illa J x Frank Nitt aka Yancey Boys! It was truly a pleasure sitting down with these cats and chopping it up on all things music. 10 years went by in a flash and it was then he released his debut album, The Yancey Boys and album comprised of all Dilla's beats which were released from the archives of Delicious Vinyl. Over that 10 year period, Illa has dropped his sophomore album, Illa J, Sunset Blvd. with Frank as Yancey Boys and his 3rd solo installment, Home produced by Calvin Valentine. Soul Circle Radio Mix Series Vol.23 D-Felic (The Hague, Netherlands) I began djing at the age of 15.  While growing up, I was lucky enough to have access to my father's record collection, which exposed me to an abundance of Soul, Funk, & Jazz music. Shortly after,  I began my journey with writing and producing music. I always experimented with various style of music but it was House music I gravitated towards. During a 4 year span, I was producing mainly Deep and Soulful House music. There are 2 exclusive tracks I produced on this mix: "My Place" which I did with Honey Larochelle last year when I was in LA for 3 months. This track got released on Good For You Records.
