Jacques’ wife (aka Management) went to see John Mulaney new show about his intervention at the Wilber Theater 3x last week.  Does she need an intervention intervention … in her defense … her friend went 4x … sssssoooo. Biff plans on catching some of the summer movies on our list … but Jacques seen Free Guy (loved it), Jungle Cruise (LOVED they keep the corny jokes from Disney ride) and Suicide Squad.  Turns out Afghanistan still sucks … as does Covid and the California recall … but at least there is plenty of weird animation for Japan crime news … which Biff as always, breaks down in fun detail. Jacques thought the passing of one of the greatest directors of the 2nd half of the last century deserves a rambling sideshow where he mis-quotes ‘facts” about his career and his undead wife (who is arguably more successful than he was.) And Biff obliged.- Donner pretty much created the big budget super hero movie with Superman The Movie (arguable one of the greatest tights and capes movies till this day!)  Suspense horror legend with The Oman as well as Jacques (and maybe Joe’s) favorite Christmas movie Scrooged!  There wasn’t a genre he didn’t kick ass in.  He even in his TV days directed episodes of Gilligan’s Island, Get Smart and The Banana Splits… I know, right!? Paul talks his path to watching Food Network saying to himself (and his wife) I can do that … to a couple years later WINNING Food Network's 2019s Carving Championship… toughest part (spoiler alert) he won it in 2018 but it didn’t air for a year so had to keep quiet about it the whole time! This week Biff and Jacques welcome longtime friend Al to chat his decades long career of selling happiness.  Al is the quintessential, old school sales guy whose products and work ethics turned out to be recession proof and even covid proof.  He specialized in selling licensed character goods to the party stores and dollar tree type stores. Al talks his biggest sellers, the can’t miss products that did miss and the “who would by this junk” that flew off the shelves. Al liked his profession.  He liked who he worked with and for … sure curve balls now and then … but overall, this chat exemplifies how if you like what you do for a living, life ain’t all that bad.
