American Tennis with Chuck Kriese
05/09/2012 Duração: 01h01minChuck Kriese interviews two young professional players Reid Carlton and Ryan Young. Carlton recently graduated from Duke University and Young was a Clemson Grad. Both players are working their way up the ATP rankings. These wonderful men give great insights into what it takes out on the tour to try to make it and to keep their careers alive. They talk about the daily struggles to find ways to train and to find the funding to travel to their events. Some ideas on how the US system might be able to help young aspiring players to get on their feet and also some wonderful insights about how to persevere through hard times. Carlton talks in depth about the mind-set that a player must have from early in his /her career if they are going to make it on the tour. Young talks about how to surround yourself with the right people and the right ways of going about the day to day routines of training and getting ready for events. This show is a good listen for young and upcoming players.

American Tennis with Chuck Kriese
29/08/2012 Duração: 01h02minChuck Kriese interviews Tim Cass, the Athletic Director at University of New Mexico. Tim was a player at the University of new Mexico, a tennis coach at New Mexico and Texas A&M. He has served on the ITA executive committee, the NCAA tennis committee and much more. He is one of the board members that was responsible for the NCAA rule change that created the firestorm of 10,000 signatures on a petition against their move to minimize the length of a dual match and change the scoring system of the sport. Tim’s unique perspective is one that needs to be heard and Kriese is very outspoken to many of the disconnects between the committees and what is actually happening and needed in the field of American Tennis.

22/08/2012 Duração: 01h01minChuck Kriese interviews John Roddick and is joined by Coach Randy Bloemendaal at the end of his show. The entire show is dedicated to the firestorm created by the NCAA tennis committees rule changes that came out this previous week. The reaction to the rules that the NCAA rule change was more than 10,000 signatures on a petition against these rule changes. Roddick speaks out very passionately as a college coach that is interested in training players and advancing tennis in the USA. Coach Randy Bloemendaal, of Indiana University, came on the show and gave his viewpoints as well in opposition to the committee. He restated his very interesting and developmental friendly ideas about moving the tennis season to the fall of the year and using the rest of the year for tournament structure.
