All the Extreme Kayak Fishermen this past weekend in the 2018 leg 1 of the #sailfishsmackdown were outstanding, and battled the most extreme conditions we've ever been presented. In the end, the best of the best battled 3-5ft seas and went 3 for 9 on Sailfish in the competition. These anglers really put Extreme in Extreme Kayak Fishing!  Jacksonville angler Franco Natividad joins the Kayak Fishing RAW Podcast to talk about winning leg 1 of the 2018 Sailfish Smackdown. Franco ended up winning $5,000 FROM TURBO USA and Railblaza, Global Fishmounts Sailfish Trophy and YETI Hopper Two 30 Cooler worth $350. 

Jim Sammons joins the Kayak Fishing RAW podcast to talk about billfish and much more! Jim made the trip to Pompano Beach, FL to fish the 2018 Sailfish Smackdown. Unfortunately the weather postponed the event till February 10th & 11th. But we still had lots to talk about. 

Kayak Fishing RAW's featured guest is Sara Salt. Sara is the native of Panama who now resides full time in Florida. She is an avid kayak/Hobie Angler but will fish off of pretty much any platform. Her love for nature and the salt life keeps her on the go and looking for her next adventure. She has been fortunate enough to scratch off many of her target species on her bucket list such as goliath grouper, yellowfin tuna, and even blue Marlin, but she still has a couple to go! Most days you can find her in or around the beautiful waters of the emerald coast in Panhandle where she lives but she frequently travels to collaborate with other likeminded fish heads so don’t be surprised to see her in your neighborhood!  We will also talk about the 2018 Sailfish Smackdown taking place January 27th & 28th. The tournament has now become a series with the second half replacing the Battle in the Bahamas. EKFT owner Joe Hector will go over the change and the exciting future of the Sailfish series.

Kayak Fishing RAW will have Extreme Kayak Fishing Champ John McKroid as our featured guest. He broke 3 records in the Summer Slam Part 2 event catching the heaviest wahoo weighing in at 71.9lbs, had the most combined weight at 101.7lbs and had the heaviest single fish at 71.9lbs. This EKFT event was one for the ages and saw one of the best weigh in's to date.  Our second guest is Texas angler Eugene Mora. He made his way to Pompano Beach FL to fish the EKFT Summer Slam Part 2 and landed a stud 48.7lb wahoo to finish 4th. He will talk about what its like to fish this one of a kind event as a out of state angler.  It wouldnt be a Kayak Fishing RAW podcast without a Bigfoot, Ghost or Alien story. While meeting with sponsor Global Fishmounts EKFT owner Joe Hector found out the building was haunted. Joe recored some amazing EVP's while there for the meeting.
