As we come back from Thanksgiving nice and full so to is this episode. Cuba finally buys Star Wars Battlefront! Then promptly returns it. We discuss gaming, what is it to be called a gamer and the state of gaming as we once again rail against all the extra fees associated with playing video games now. We have our "Walking Recap" for episode 6 of The Walking Dead "Swear". Both Cuba and Aaron went to the movies over the weekend and give their reviews on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Disney's Moana. 

We apologize for all the skips in audio in this episode. We were plagued with computer issues the whole night. Fear not though, we managed to edit and sync together a great show for you! We kick it off with our "Walking Recap" segment for season 7 episode "Service". We celebrate the great news that Netflix has pick up Young Justice for a 3rd season. We give our thoughts on Justice League Dark. The first official trailer for the live action Ghost in the Shell came out and it looks great. We talk about it and how that series introduced us to the world of serious anime when we were young. 

Welcome to part 2. After the gang expunged their election woes in part 1 we get a second wind and ride that baby into our "Walking Recap" segment. We discuss Season 7. Episode 3 and some of the things the show does right and some it does very wrong. We talk about talented/artistic kids and why they sometimes do bad in classes they should excel at. We end the show with controversy around art J Scott Campbell's Iron Man cover. 

This isn't one of our normal episodes. We recorded episode 11 the day after election day. We try to keep politics out of geekery but we just had to talk about the craziness that went down. This episode was split into 2 parts. Part 2 will come out on its normally scheduled day, it is the second half of our recording form that night but will feature no more political talk! Promise! 

We're back at it again! This week we continue our "Walking Recap" segment, where we review and discuss episode 2 of The Walking Dead's seventh season. Aaron went to go see Doctor Strange in 4D, and tells us about his experience and reviews the movie. Also, the official cinematic trailer and website went up for Mass Effect: Andromeda, and we get super excited and share our hopes and fears on it!

The podcast crew is together for Halloween! We hit the ground running with a Walking Dead recap on the much anticipated premiere of season 7, followed by some good costumes at Halloween parties this year. We reminisce about movies that give us those Halloween feels, with a Top 5 list! All this, capped off with some gaming talk, and making fun of Aarons cat and its embarrassing weight problem.

This week Cuba and Aaron talk about the flurry of movie trailers that came out over the past week. We break down the Rouge One trailer and are unable to contain our excitement for the movie. We give our thoughts on yet another upcoming unnecessary reboot. We also talk about several upcoming video game releases. Titanfall 2 gets a single player campaign, Battlefield 1 looks awesome and the long awaited Mass Effect Andromeda gets a release date. 

In this episode of The Modern Retro we are now without Aaron for an episode. Cuba and Roy take you on a rollercoaster of a conversation by starting with Roy's thoughts and an update on Clownpocalypse 2016. We Then talk about what we loved about the first Pirates of the Caribbean and what the sequels are lacking, this takes us into a conversations about Hook and then somehow we end up in the Matrix! We cap it all of with a little bit of Star Wars.

In this episode of The Modern Retro we are down one Roy due to the back to school plague. We discuss the nation wide clown scare as well as the clown phobia in general, are they really THAT terrifying? We give our first impressions of Netflix's new Marvel show, Luke Cage. Cuba and Aaron talk about the finer points of practical vs CG gore effects in our Ash vs Evil Dead section, along with the movies with the most onscreen deaths. You will also find out what Ben Affleck really thought of the BvS movie and its negative reviews.  

This week we talk about Star Wars Battlefront! Likes, dislikes, and reasons we are oddly compelled to keep playing it! Aaron saw the recent Warcraft movie and gives us his thoughts. Michael Bay has doubled down on the crazy by adding Nazis to his next Transformers flick...and also mini dinobots? What? Finally, alcohol is consumed, the conversation zigs this way and that, and we somehow end up killing Free Willy.

This week the gang once again records in the studio together. We discuss the startling revelation that Darkwing Duck and Ducktails exist in two separate duckverses! That takes us to a quick conversation on the existence of parallel universes. We address the rumor of the purported prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road that is absolutely and completely unnecessary if true. Cuba started Supergirl on Netflix and shares his thoughts and a quick review on the first four episodes. Along the way we talk about condom section being in the same aisle as children's medicine, the interesting people you meet buying lube at 1 am, and the disgusting modern way that you're supposed to clear boogers from a babies face sends everyone gagging.

In this episode we discuss Apple's rather disappointing fall event. Is Apple no longer innovative, has smartphone technology plateaued or are we all just jaded? Star Trek turned 50! We discuss all things Trek, from our first introductions to the franchise and our favorite series. 

Welcome to Episode 2. The crew talks about a few of the shows on Netflix, still no indepth discussion on Stranger Things because of Roy hasn't watched it yet! His window closes! The Tick pilot hits Amazon Prime, Cuba gives his thoughts on the potential series. Some how we end up on the topic of early 2000's rap and why Roy would Rush home to catch RTL back in the Day. We give our respects to the passing of Gene Wilder but unfortunately have some technical difficulties that cut it short.
