We do not believe the mention of speaking in "new tongues" in Mark 16:17 is original to Mark's gospel since it is missing from the earliest and best manuscripts (for more on that, see here.) Here is the big question concerning prophecy: Is New Testament prophecy, like Old Testament prophecy, infallible? If it is, all agree it no longer happens today lest the sufficiency of Scripture be undermined. However, if NT prophecy, unlike OT prophecy, is fallible then perhaps it still happens today.
