At the core of the Bible is a promise of transformation through the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which is Christ in you. It's how Christianity was born, and what sparked a torrent of revival in the book of Acts. This day nothing has changed. The Spirit is still being poured out and The Promise is still for you.

The key to avoiding regret is to know which paths to travel and which ones to avoid. If you're having problems (marriage, finances, health, etc.), it's not an immediate solution that you need, it's a change of direction. It's your direction, not your intention, that determines your destination.

Lesson 9 in our Genesis series continues with a Patriarch of Israel - Isaac. The story of Isaac shows one of the richest typologies in relation to Christ and the church, filled with layers of symbolism and foreshadowing of what was to come in the promise, birth and life of Jesus.

The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. It starts at a crossroad between sin and righteousness and ends at either a place you never intended, or a place you never imagined. The direction you choose will determine the destination of your life.

Marketing is everywhere. Buy this. Wear that. Go there. Stay here. Each object telling you that if only you had it, you would feel complete, whole. Most of us go through life thinking we are, because we have, but there is only one way to be complete, only Jesus.

Over 500 followers of Jesus saw him resurrected, but only 120 applied the information He gave and waited in the upper room for the Holy Spirit. Imagine if they all had only received his words, but done nothing with them. Unapplied information is powerless to produce change. You have the message of the Good News. Now it's time to use it.

The world we live in is a frustrating time in history. Sin abounds and is applauded, religious liberties slowly being taken away. The future look hollow. But, now is the time for the church to realize, we are being positioned for revival. The worse the world gets, the greater the grace of God is.

This week, Pastor Brown continues Genesis with the life of Abraham and how his story is an illustration or typology of the starting point of the life of faith for a believer.

God gave us our voices as a chief means of expression. It gives us power and the ability to influence. Our sin once attracted the wrath of God, but Jesus' sacrifice changed that. We are the redeemed and it is up to the redeemed to say so.

In a modern day setting, the word gospel has lost its significance. It's been softened, muted, and sanitized. Realistically, The Gospel is the most important term in the whole world. It is the central answer to life's most important questions - "What is the meaning of life?" and "Why am I here?"

Pastor Brown continues our Genesis study in Genesis 6 with a study of Noah, of the flood, and the typology relationship between the ark and the plan of salvation.

Spiritual dominion and expansion of the kingdom has two "loosers" – the one who does the work in heaven and the one who does it on earth. You are the looser on earth. Take the initiative. Take the authority. He has given it, He's waiting for you to act in faith and speak it.
