Jesus asked his disciples this question: “Who do you say I am?” But if He were to ask us that question, how would we answer? How can we know Him? Tom Darnell continues with Part 2 of the series on Nine Questions from the Bible. God can open our minds to Him and His deep, mysterious ways. But if we ask with our own glory in mind or our own agenda, we will always have a distorted view of Christ. Surrendering ourselves to His wisdom is the beginning. And asking is the beginning of the journey.

Asking questions can sometimes reveal more than we want them to. That often keeps us silent when we most need not to be. There are over 200 questions asked in the Gospels. Almost 100 of them came from Jesus. Randy begins a new nine part series on nine questions He asked. Jesus' questions focused at the often unseen root of a need, or they helped people grow in more alignment with God's heart. One of the most surprising and amazing questions Jesus asked was “What do you want?” Jesus came to awaken our desires. He came to redeem them. In this new series, we'll explore our often messy hearts as we grow deeper in understanding His beautiful and perfect love.

God loves us so much that He sent His Son to endure the cross. Because of the joy set before Him that we can be part of His kingdom, He sent His son to fulfill His law. This podcast includes short segments from this Sunday's worship service intended to prepare us for communion. Christ died so that we can come freely to God as we are. Communion serves as a physical reminder of His gift to us and our need for Him.

God protects us physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Just like a parent is passionate about protecting his or her child, so is God passionate about protecting us.

1 John 5:14 says we can be confident in that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. We often question what is the purpose of prayer. Tom points out that God uses our prayers as vessels for doing His work and glorifying Him. When we pray in accordance with His will, we know that we will have what we ask (vs.15).

We all experience doubt--whether regarding our faith in Christ, believing God's promises, or in who we are as new creations. Jesus stepped into the doubts and struggles of the disciples. He provided truth and history to battle our doubt. In this sermon, Randy helps us see how Christ can handle our doubt and no longer wants us to be held by it.

We go through life sometimes trudging on--trying to bear the load we're given. But we don't have to bear it alone. We don't have to live in drudgery or defeat. Randy reminds us that God is the victor, and that we can rest in His victory.

Although it is a common word we use, we occasionally need reminders as to why "love" is so important. Tom opens us to the root of love: who God is, that Jesus came to us, and the way we've been changed. May we love from the heart, sincerely, and without hypocrisy.

Whether these messages are simply thoughts popping into our minds or things we are told by people, they can affect our self-opinion for the rest of our lives. Randy and Dave George help us learn to listen and believe what God says about us...that we really are truly and wonderfully made...that by listening to His messages, we don't have to live a life pining after things that leave us empty or hurt.
