This morning we are beginning a six-week series through Nehemiah. It is my hope that through these messages you will be encouraged as we take a front row seat to Nehemiah's building project.

Adjusting our thinking about ownership.

All of us are looking to fill the void in our souls. This song mirrors the story of the lost son who wasted much of his life searching for meaning -- only to return home and be welcomed by love and grace. We are called to take Jesus' message of hope to a world in need.

What is the meaning of life? Why am I here? Ecclesiastes 1 and 2 gives hope and perspective.

On the anniversary of 9/11 we celebrate the resurrection life of Jesus Christ and are reminded to be his witnesses to the ends of the earth.

At the beginning of Holy Week, the emptiness of religion and the power of faith/prayer are seen in the triumphal entry, clearing the temple and the withered fig tree (all leaves and no fruit).

Many things stand in the way of our acceptance/entrance into the Kingdom of God: selfishness (divorce), pride (little children), materialism (rich young ruler) and power seeking (James' and John's request).

The theme of humility is described in the transfiguration and future suffering of Jesus, prayer and power healing, the message that the 1st must be last, coming to God as children and dealing with sin.

Jesus is the source of life as revealed in the feeding of the 5000, the yeast of the Pharisees, Peter's confession and his predicted death. We are encouraged to take up our cross and follow Him.
