  • Shakers and Makeres

    12/07/2015

This Sunday marks the beginning of a seven-week series entitled, "The Adventure of Discipleship - Shakers and Makers." Churches that are vibrant today and making a difference are the churches where people take the call of Jesus Christ seriously, live as the salt of the earth (shakers) and then become disciple makers. This is not a new concept, it is an expectation God gave to the church from the very beginning.

This week, we conclude our series "Family Matters" as we cover Ephesians 6:1-4. Paul shares the characteristics of a strong family. As we celebrate our nation this weekend, we are reminded that a strong nation is made up of strong families.

Happy Fathers Day. This week we will begin a three week study from Ephesians 5 entitled "Family Matters". Men, we begin with our role as husbands and Fathers as Paul reminds us that we are to love our wives as Christ loves the church.

  • Divine Comfort

    14/06/2015

This week at the 8:00 and 11:00 worship services, we will be focusing on the subject of "Divine Comfort." Paul begins his second letter to the Corinthians (2 Corinthians 1:3-11) being very transparent about how much he appreciated being comforted when he had to endure the "tough times' in his life. We have all experienced "tough times" and have appreciated being comforted. But Scripture teaches us also to be a comfort to others which sometimes can be a challenge when it comes to knowing what to say and what to do. Scripture gives us some wonderful insights and resources on how to be comforted and be a comforter.

  • To God Be the Glory

    07/06/2015

The Apostle Paul concludes his letter to the Romans with these words, "to the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! Amen." (Romans 16:27) What a wonderful closing to an awesome letter. "To the only wise God" - there is no other! This week's message will make an attempt to summarize the letter to the Romans and come to a clearer understanding of what it means to give God the glory. The highlight will be sharing the Sacrament of Communion with the church family.

  • Stay Alert

    31/05/2015

Are there some areas in your life where you struggle living the way the Bible instructs you? Are there times that you tend to compromise just a little bit for the sake of keeping peace? Does it really make a difference if we “fudge” now and then? This week we are nearing the end of Paul’s letter to the Romans (Romans 16:17-20) and pick up on some very important advice. Before Paul closes his letter he makes one last appeal to the Christians in Rome to keep themselves from every evil influence. He gives excellent advice for the church today and when followed can keep the church effective in living out God’s call.

  • We Are Family

    24/05/2015

At first glance, it may seem that Romans 16:1-16 is nothing more than names of people that Paul became acquainted with during his ministry. But it is so much than just names! It represents how important the family of God should be to every believer and how much we need each other. God has blessed us with a wonderful family at CLCC and together we enjoy the friendships we have in Christ.
