Stories from the Polycule: Real Life in Polyamorous Families (2015), Sheff’s second book, is an edited collection of stories from people in polyamorous families. Sheff’s third book, When Someone you Love is Polyamorous: Understanding Poly People and Relationships, is a brief introduction to polyamory using empirical evidence to start a conversation.With a PhD in Sociology, Sheff is a pioneer of the academic study of polyamory. This week Woody & the Beast invite Nurse Ratched to the KinkyCast studios to talk about “Shit You Should Never Do” in BDSM play. This week Woody & the Beast welcome Malicious Moon to discuss Dom Myths. When we came into the kinky world we all had expectations either as a top or bottom. In this cast three dominants talk about the myths we were sold on entering as dominants. Ms. Moon offers a female perspective to the Dom myths. This show was based on a real exercise we did at a MAsT meeting. Many times the myths are obvious, but we still swallow them hook, line and sinker!

#195 - Alice Toye on Consent Violation and Personal Responsibility This week Woody & the Beast call on Alice Toye from Houston Texas. Alice has been active in the scene since 1999 and has presented at all Houston local groups on a wide variety of topics including negotiating, poly, bottoming skills, and a variety of forms of psychological play. Co-presented on interrogation at 2016 SouthPlains Leatherfest. Because negotiation forms part of the basis for consent, I believe that it is an essential skill for every player. I've heard a lot of people say, "I don't know how to negotiate" or "I don't negotiate well." If you are unable to negotiate effectively, I believe that you are playing above your skill set and putting all of us at risk. We are all responsible for evaluating our skills and doing what's necessary to improve. Attend a class. Ask for help. Invest the time to think about yourself as a player. You wouldn't say, "I'm going to whip someone tonight, and learn proper whip technique later

Mistress Cyan is most well known as the founder and organizer of the BDSM Conventions DomCon Los Angeles and DomCon New Orleans. She produces The Lair at Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas. She also runs Sanctuary LAX, one of the largest dungeons in Southern California. She was introduced to The Lifestyle in 1989, and through years of commitment to helping others and grow the scene, has since become a well respected leader in the Los Angeles BDSM and leather communities. Early on, Mistress Cyan would organize holiday fundraisers for local charities. She was constantly presenting at classes, and mentoring others. She is still a serious fundraiser for charities inside and out of the leather community.
