What do we mean by "Service Within?" Together we will look at some motivating Biblical examples in God's word. We'll also consider some past and present examples of service within our church. The question you must ask yourself is "Do I personally have different gifts that I can and should be using for service within the church?"

There is much talk in the church of Christ about the role of conscience and yet the role of conscience is often misunderstood. 'Let your conscience be your guide' is the motto for many well-meaning people. Many also assume it to the final moral authority. But the conscience is like a watch. It can serve a useful purpose, if it is properly set. If set incorrectly, you'll miss the boat. Even worse, if conscience is properly set and it is ignored, the conscience can be killed! Joe's message is about a man who did just that and how we need to avoid the same mistake.

Easter is by far the most exciting day of worship we have... the Resurrection of Jesus from the dead! The single biggest event in history moves us to praise and thanksgiving for our redemption and the future life it provides. But what about that space of time in between? Sometimes it is hard to believe all the promises. God's timing isn't ours and we don't see the whole picture. It really stretches beyond our mental limits. If only we could really believe we belonged to something greater than ourselves. In this message, Mike will help you look look at the facts that you really do belong to something greater. Even more important than belonging is that you're accepted by someone greater. You're accepted! Warts and all, doubts and failures, even rebellion.

God is infinitely forgiving and we all need His forgiveness. Thankfully, He has made it possible for us to receive it! As Christians, we need to learn how to forgive like our Father. We often think we do, but we just might have some misconceptions about forgiveness that need to cleared out of our lives. Together, we'll look at some of these misconceptions so that we can practice real, liberating, and godly forgiveness.

If you were told that you were could leave for a vacation on Monday, what would you do prior to that trip? Our guess would be that you would think about where you were going and then take some time to pack for the vacation. You might also go on-line or check out a book to research what you should do when you are on vacation. You might call some people who live in the area to see if they were available to have some coffee or eat a meal together. The point is you would prepare in some way for that trip. We don't know what "vacation" God has planned for us but we might find out we are leaving sooner than we expected. This "vacation" might be a mission trip; it might be visiting someone who is sick, it might be counseling someone, it might be leading a study or small group; or it might be our last breath! We need to be prepared for what we are being called to do.

Providence, Peace, Practice, Production and Perfection

Do you know who you are……in God’s eyes? Do you recognize the gifts and talents that He has given to you, or do you hide them and only use them when you feel “comfortable” to do so? Do we recognize all the gifts He has blessed us with, or only the ones we like or feel strong about? As His servants, we need to be constantly seeking ways to constantly use our gifts to not just serve others, but to worship and glorify God. We will discover others in the Bible who had difficulties in not just recognizing their gifts, but had great reluctance to use their gifts…even when called upon by God. We will look at the lessons they learned and in turn, look to use those lessons as strive to climb higher in our Christian walk. Is it words or actions that make up your answer to the question of: WHO AM I?

The symbol of Christianity is the cross. Jesus said we should take up a cross daily. What does that mean for you and me?

We don't often give much attention to the things we think about, but the Bible tells us that "as a man thinks in his heart, so is he." This Sunday our sermon will be focusing on Philippians 4:8 where Paul tells us to "think on these things" and describes just what sort of thoughts should be occupying the mind of a follower of Jesus.

Why does God answer some prayers but seemingly ignores others? What type of plans does God have in mind, but is waiting for a group of his people to pray? Does God withhold blessing; healing; miracles; fulfillment of dreams until a few or more of us meet in prayer? It boils down to a single principle: “God Often Waits for Two or Three”

As we climb higher prayer will be foundational. God has made it possible for us to address Him and desires that we do. And as we pray, it becomes important that we come to understand some basic assumptions to make about our prayers that lead us to accept what God has to give us.
