In this week's episode of the Joomla Beat podcast I kick off a series of Joomla search engine optimisation (SEO) tips for Joomla. It all comes from a presentation I did for the Sydney Joomla User Group in May and my recording of it didn't go too well, so I've split each tip on my main presentation into smaller podcast episodes.I also have an awesome interview with Vic Drover from Anything Digital talking about the business, how he got into Joomla and also about his involvement with creating the spanish version of the Joomla! Content Magazine.

This week on the show we have an interview with Tenko Nikolov, the CEO from SiteGround. Last week we saw a massive brute force attack that was affecting so many sites on the website and Tenko talks to us about the issue, what it is and how SiteGround managed to stop it from affecting their servers and their customers. He also leaves a few handy tips to help protect your Joomla websites from these types of attacks.I also go over some Joomla news and events that are happening this week including the release of Joomla 3.1 which should be happening any moment.

This is a follow up to a blog post that was floating around stating that there was a module that could be downloaded from the Extension Directory that had hidden malicious code distributed with it.We also have an interview with Chris Ward who talks to us about CiviCRM and CRM systems in general.

He talks to us about an e-commerce option for Joomla called MijoShop.He talks about his many years of experience in working with other e-commerce platforms including Magento and how MijiShop differs from them and why it might be the best option for Joomla at the moment.

This week we take a little look at freelancing with Joomla. We look at some websites, tools and services that make the process just a little easier.We also have an interview with Jennifer Gregory who over time has built up a business aimed at small and medium businesses, creating a nice working environment and career all because of Joomla.

This week the latest patches have been release for Joomla, 2-5-9 and 3-0-3 so we're looking at updating your Joomla website to the latest patch version.We also look at this thing called Facebook Graph Search. Lastely we have an exciting interview with Cory Webb from ManosCrafted, he recently just acquired a template shop called Joomla Praise and has some big plans for its relaunch.

On this weeks show we have a look at a few extensions that you can use to create social sharing, build up your social profile and create social conversations on your Joomla website.We also have a look at Joomla templates and some template clubs and providers out there.Lastly we also have an interview with Peter van Westen from NoNumber talking a little bit about himself and how he got into Joomla as well as a little bit about his extensions.

This week we take a look at the new MySpace and what potential it may have in terms of social media impact for Joomla site administrators and Joomla site owners. We also have an interview with the brilliant Anthony Olsen from JoomlaBamboo telling us a little bit about himself and a little more about JoomlaBamboo itself.He also talks a little more about his move from the Zen Grid Framework to the T3V3 framework for all of JoomlaBamboo's new templates.

This weeks episode we take a look at Joomla backups and how important it is not to rely on your hosting backups and alternatives to hosting backups, Joomla security and updates as well as a monitoring service called Watchful.li.We've upgraded some of our audio equipment here after spending hours on our old setup trying to get things perfect.This weeks episode is much better quality than the previous. Hurray for our first ever Joomla Beat Podcast!Please excuse the audio quality of the podcast for this recording. I chose the office as the first location of the recording and we didn't pick up the slight room echo, background noise or electrical interference on the recording while there. You may have not noticed it either until I told you but it does improve as I ran back to the home studio which is pretty much sound proof and recorded the rest of the show in much better quality.We have much planned for the show including new voice overs, transitions, interviews and new segments to keep things entertaining and exciting.I'd love to hear feedback in regards to the quality and content.
