  • Pardon My French Playlist

    02/10/2010 Duração: 36min

For your listening pleasure. I created this playlist for myself and my own craving for this music, but in the interim between our podcasts we thought we'd share this with you our wonderful listeners. Please note the entire track plays all the way through. I did not have time to insert markers in the audio. This is something I'm working on learning more about how to do. Thank you for your patience.  The songs below were found on the Internet Archive. Most of them are from the 1930's or before. Note, some have been already featured in previous podcasts (see items with *) Enjoy! • Update: We're Still Here and We're Coming Back Soon

    01/10/2010 Duração: 39h00s

We still heart all of you. :) I know some people hate apologies so I won’t give one ;). But we’re on sort of a few week hiatus for now due to life (for both of us) getting in the way of podcasting. But I’ll shortly be posting a musical interlude only offering on the site as an offering and sign that we’re still alive and kicking, just slightly ‘dormant.’ I'm posting this musical collection separately in a following entry.   Natlaie

Why I like dpns Complicated patterns that need a lot of counting Some yarns don't do well with the pulling of cables Looks complicated and bad ass to have 4-5 needles going at once. • Episode 3: Knitting Traditions

    21/02/2010 Duração: 52min

This is a very delayed release of our podcast. We begin our pondering about Traditional Knitting at the Dublin Bay knitting store in the Pearl District, Portland, Oregon. We adjourned again to our "mobile" recording studio (my car) during the Craft Philosophy segment just because it became a bit boisterous in the shop :).  Thank you again to Dublin Bay for allowing us to record on the premises. Do check out their lovely collection of yarn, fiber, and knitting resources for the knitting Anglophile. • Cloudy with a Chance of Fiber - Our First Podcast!

    21/09/2009 Duração: 35min

Listen to the episode directly In this episode: Rachel and Natalie introduce themselves and ponder on why they ‘craft’ Natalie talks about pop culture and knitting and discovers that she is a “Sweater Knitter” above all else Rachel talks about replacing those pesky nupps with beads and tackling sleeves two at a time. This is our first episode so we’re just working out the bumps. I nearly tore my hair out when we lost about 15 minutes of really good audio because the batteries in my Zoom recorder died out. As Rachel said, “You live and learn.” In future episodes we want to do at least one feature segment from the following subjects: Product Obsession (Review) Crochet Chat Stash Busters DIY Nation Craft Philosophy Pop Culture Knits We will probably plan more segments but we thought we’d stop for now with those. Pop Knits Contest Entries: Share your pop culture inspired knit or craft item in our comments. E-mail us at cloudychanc
