The Diesel Performance Podcast visits with Lottsburg, Virginia farmer Mark Downing. Mark recounts his diesel addiction, starting with a 6.5 GMC to an '01 Duramax that included some major problems (injectors, head gasket, injection pump) by 80K miles (ouch!). Mark sold the '01 Duramax and bought an '01 Cummins. Mark then describes his enjoyment of spraying nitrous - nothing gets the turbo going better, he says. Danny agrees because he uses nitrous too. Nick Priegnitz, Owner-Founder of Duramaxtuner.COM, talks about the V4 Duramax and its tuning potential - both for the engine control module (ECM) and transmission control module (TCM). The entire podcast takes place behind the wheel with Paul reacting as each new tune is loaded. The small, kinda dead stock tuned truck turns into an energetic joy to drive. She describes what it took to get from a bone stock, old-guy truck to the tire shredding machine she owns today. The truck goes to the track when the weather improves - but Paul thinks he knows what Katie's truck will run and Danny disagrees. It's a lively discussion with plenty of good times. 

Daniel McEwen's diesel addiction began with a Cummins and now includes a Duramax LML. In this episode of the DPP Truck Advisor, Daniel explains the mods and other things he's done to build a drag racer and how he's done it.

Suncoast Performance's Dallas Penn visits to give Paul and Danny some insight on Powerstroke transmissions. Not all decisions relate to horsepower, according to Dallas. He likes to consider the use of the truck as well. Big horsepower and big torque require billet shafts - that's where the Powerstroke transmission build starts. Dallas says there's a revival in the popularity of the 4R100. The entire show goes into a lot of detail about all Ford transmissions and what owners need to know to get the most from their Blue Oval in every application - daily driver to performance. 

Sled puller Lee Stiltz drops by the podcast to explain his addiction for the motorsport.

Paul, Danny and Dwight also talk about bracket racing and how there's a difference between the horsepower goals in the Midwest compared to the East Coast. 

PSP Diesel's Art Martinez stops by to offer turbo advice to Blue Oval owners. Art also consults with host Paul Wilson about his 1995 7.3 gear jammer and what it doesn't have any fortitude! 

The Diesel Performance Podcast's Danny Voss talks to veteran diesel tuner Bob Petersen, of Duramaxtuner.COM, about Duramax power recipes. The conversation covers every engine type - LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM and everyone's favorite - the LML, and describes the various options, from tune-only power to bolt-ons, including intakes and exhaust systems. Bob goes into detail on some of the pros and cons of each engine. He also explains the meaning of driveability and why it's more important than a specific horsepower number, like 1,000hp. 

The DPP team talks to diesel enthusiast Ryan Karbaum about his truck, 2005 Cummins 3500 with 390,000 miles. Like every diesel owner, Ryan likes to tell the story behind his truck and how his father handed it down to him when he turned 16. Flash forward a few years and we learn what Ryan did to the truck to feed his diesel addiction. DPP hosts Paul Wilson and Danny Voss ask questions and offer advice.
