    Arts & Humanities Bainbridge (AHB) has recently published a book by Michael Lisagor, “Personal Growth in the Time of COVID: What we can learn from prominent artist, writers, philosophers & musicians”.   This book contains a collection of essays from Mike’s musing of 34 well-known creative individuals. It is an inspirational book with uplifting and entertaining life lessons. In each story he weaves with humor his own journey to manage and survive these challenging times.   In this podcast you’ll hear Mike tell us what inspired him to write about these creative individuals. He also talks about how the pandemic has affected artists and what he has learned during this time. Mike believes that Art transforms lives and that setbacks are sometimes necessary to reset the creative energy.     The Bainbridge Island City Council approved the Climate Action Plan (CAP) this past November 2020. What is the CAP and how will it be implemented?  The Climate Change Advisory Committee (CCAC) will be hosting an online community event this month giving presentations of the plan, answer questions on the CAP and discuss next steps.   The online events will be held: Wednesday, Jan. 13 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.  Saturday, Jan. 23. from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Listen here to city council liaison Joe Deets, and CCAC members Mike Cox, Deb Rudnick, and Lara Hansen describe the importance of the Plan, how it got started and what it plans to accomplish.     Tahmina Watson, a Seattle immigration attorney and well-known media figure in the immigration field joins us on this edition of What’s Up Bainbridge.     Island Volunteer Caregivers (IVC) has been serving Bainbridge Island for almost 25 years, providing transportation, in-home services, and life-enriching activities for the homebound – all free of charge. IVC promotes the health, well-being, dignity and independence of the elderly, disabled and those in need by providing one-on-one relationships with trusted volunteers from our community.  As we are all aware, during this time when large scale fundraising events are not feasible, Island nonprofits have been struggling to continue supporting the services they provide.
