Attitude makes all the difference in whether God can use us or not. Takeaways from Today’s Story: Even faithful believers will have differences and times of disagreement but God is honored by humble reconciliation. God sometimes chooses to allow us to suffer even when we have done the right thing. Our temporary suffering is a small price to pay if just one person is drawn closer to Christ by our faith.

“Darkness to Light” - Part 3 - August 15, 2021 “Showdown with a False Prophet” - Acts 13:1-12 Dr. Ed Seay, Magnolia’s First Baptist Church Today’s Big Idea - “We must have God’s power to do God’s work.”   God calls all of us to be His witnesses but  He calls some to become missionary evangelists.   When God calls some to a specific missionary assignment,  the church is to endorse and support them.   God’s call may be to a specific location, a particular region  or an itinerant ministry that impacts numerous areas.   When taking the gospel to a new location, the missionaries look for ways to make relational and spiritual connections.   When doing missionary work, the enemy will not sit idly by. He will oppose God’s work intensely and powerfully.   If we try to fight a spiritual battle without the Holy Spirit’s  power, we will be overmatched and overpowered.   When God’s power is victorious through His people, it is a compelling witness to those who are considering the gospel.   People

“Darkness to Light” - Part 2 - August 8, 2021 “A New Man and a New Message” - Acts 9:19b-31 Dr. Ed Seay Today’s Big Idea - “There is nothing better than being used by God.” Paul was called to a life of service, sacrifice, and suffering for the gospel..and so are we. Teaching that continually focuses only on what God can do for you is selling a narcissistic brand of Christianity. Paul was not successful in his mission merely because he had great intellect or speaking ability. He was successful because of the presence and power of the Holy Spirit on his life and message. You can’t be successful in your witness as a Christ Follower unless you are filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will fill us if we repent of known sin and ask Him to fill us with a surrendered heart. Faithfulness to Christ will bring opposition. We must decide if pleasing Him is more important to us than pleasing people. If you are a faithful witness for Christ, He will send the right people at the right time to encourage
