Jesus continues to preach and heal while setting His course firmly on His fast-approaching trip to Jerusalem for the purpose of the Cross.  Matthew 19:1-2; 10:1; 11:20-24, 25-30; Luke 9:51-56; 10:1-16, 17-24; 17:11-19

Jesus heals a man born blind and it sets off a fire storm among the Sanhedrin hecklers.  Jesus continues to give big hints about His coming death and resurrection. John 9:1-12, 13-34, 35-41; 10:1-10,11-21

Today, we look at John 8 where Jesus discusses His Father versus the Jewish leaders' father, and we reflect on Jesus' statement that He is the Light of the world. John 8:12-20, 21-30, 31-36, 39-47, 48-59.

The Pharisees get more confused and indignant as Jesus slips into Jerusalem to teach in the Temple during the Feast of Tabernacles.  John 7:25-36, 37-44, 45-53; 8: 2-11; Zephaniah 14:16-18

Jesus teaches on getting along with our brothers, power and authority available to Christians, and forgiveness.  Mark 9:30-41; Luke 9:49-50; Matthew 18:15-35; John 7:1-24

Jesus exhorts His disciples and us to exhibit more faith, at least faith the size of a mustard seed and nothing will be impossible!  Matthew 17:14-27; 18:1-14; Mark 9:14-29,33-49; Luke 17:1-10; 9:37-43, 46-48

Turning point: Jesus tells His disciples about His impending death and resurrection.  He even lets them in on His transfiguration.  Mark 8:22-26, 27-30, 31-38; 9:2-13; Matthew 16:13-20, 21-28; 17:1-13; Luke 9:18-20,21-27,28-36

Both the Pharisees and Disciples amaze Jesus with their lack of understanding as he heals and feeds the multitudes.  Matthew 15:10-20,21-28,29-39; 16:1-12; Mark 7:14-23,24-30,31-37; 8:1-10,11-21; John 7:1

Jesus teaches that He is the Bread of heaven, loses disciples over the idea of partaking of His flesh and blood, and rebukes the hypocritical Pharisees.  Matthew 14:34-36, 15:1-8; Mark 6:53-56; 7:1-13; John 6:22-40, 41-59, 60-70

When the disciples return from their first mission trip, Jesus continues to teach by feeding 5000+ with 5 loaves and 2 fish and then walking on water!  Matthew 14:13-33; Mark 6:30-52; Luke 9:10-17; John 6:1-21

Jesus sends out his disciples, two by two, and with His authority.  We learn how John the Baptist died.  Matthew 9:35-38; 10:5-15, 16-33,34-42; Luke 9:1-6, 7-9; Mark 6:7-11,12-13, 14-29

Jesus heals a woman ill for 12 years, and raises a 12-year-old from the dead, connecting the two with prophetic implications.  Mark 5:21-43; 6:1-6; Matthew 9:18-26,27-34; 13:53-58; Luke 8:40-56; 21:20-24; Romans 11:19-27

Jesus reveals more of Who He is when He tells the wind and storm to be muzzled and then delivers a man from a legion of demons. Matthew 8:18-22,23-27,28-34; Luke 9:57-62;8:22-25,26-39; Mark 4:35-41; 5:1-20

Jesus continues to speak in code about the Kingdom of God. Tares and Wheat, A Mustard Seed, and A Pearl of Great Price. Matthew 13:24-52; Mark 4:21-34; Luke 8:16-18; Luke 13:18-21; Jeremiah 49:2; Revelation 14:14-20; Psalm 78:2; 1 Chronicles 15:8

Our radical Savior heals again on the Sabbath and begins to preach in parables for an unexpected reason.  Luke 13:10-17, 8:4-10, 11-15; Matthew 13:1-17, 18-23; Mark 4:1-12, 13-20; Proverbs 25:2; Psalm 111:10, 32:9, 119:130; Job 32:7

In today's study, Jesus emphasizes the need to discern the times, to watch, and to be bearing fruit for His Kingdom until He comes again.  Luke 12:13-21, 22-34, 35-48, 49-56; 13:1-9

Jesus hits the hypocrisy of the Pharisees head on and warns His disciples to stay away from such people.  Matthew 12:31-32, 38-42, 43-45, 46-50; Mark 3: 28-30,31-35; Luke 11:29-32, 24-26, 33-54; 8:19-21; 12:1-7

Jesus continues to preach and heal but is heckled more and more by the Pharisees.  Even poor imprisoned John the Baptist has a few doubts.  Matthew 11:2-19; 12:22-30; Luke 7:11-35, 36-50; 8:1-3; 11:14-23; Mark 3:20-27; Isaiah 35:4-7

Jesus gives us some great advice about avoiding false teachers and a Roman Centurion stands out as a beacon of faith.  Matthew 7:13-23,24-27,28-29, Luke 6:43-45,46-49; Matthew 8:5-13; Luke 7:1-10, 11-17

Today, the Lord teaches us a lot about how to pray and live in a way that frees us from slavery and anxiety.  Matthew 6:5-15, 16-23, 24-34; Matthew 7:1-5, 6-12; Luke 6:37-42
