This series of podcasts we’ve called the mentoring tapes. They feature Craig Bruce and Kate Meade, who works at Ace radio. Kate co-hosts the Jon and Kate Breakfast Show which is networked to 8 radio stations in the Victoria/NSW region. She’s also an aspiring program director.   Kate is an inspiration.    In her career before radio she created Victoria’s largest dance festival for young people- "The Victorian Dance Festival" where 7,000 dancers come together for an incredible weekend of learning and inspiration.   Kate’s work in this space was recently acknowledged by The Australian Financial Review where she made 2018's list of 100 Women of Influence.   In this series, Kate and I discuss the basics of music strategy, dealing with conflict, leadership, air-checking announcers and managing airtime. Tim started his career in Perth at 929, before moving to Melbourne and Sydney where he hosted the National Hot30 countdown along with music shifts on 2day-FM and Fox. Tim has been nominated for an ACRA in the best music announcer category 3 times, winning it in 2011. He’s now home in Perth working on 929 whilst also managing the station’s digital platforms. Tim Lee is one of Australia's best CHR announcer. There isn't a shift Tim hasn't hosted. Todd Campbell has been one of the lead programmers in Australian radio for more than a decade. He ran NOVA Melbourne for 10 years and programmed stations for Southern Cross Austereo in Perth and Newcastle. Brad Blanks is an Australian entertainment/street reporter who's been working in NYC for 17 years, originally with the Scott and Todd show on WPLJ and now on Scott Shannon’s big breakfast on CBS FM.
