At Winterfest 2026, Pastor Evans preaches from Matthew 6:22–23, a familiar passage that includes the often puzzling references to the "single eye" and the "evil eye." All throughout the Bible, God invites mankind to come to Him. Isaiah 1:18 gives us one of the earliest invitations to come to Christ, and allow our sins to be made white as snow. What holds you back from receiving Christ today? If the Holy Spirit draws you to Him, don't turn Him away!

In John 8, we see a rare look at the tenderness that Jesus uses in handling a soul in need. A woman accused stands in undeniable shame and sin, yet the Savior silences her prideful accusers and frees her to begin a new life.

In Zechariah 13:6, we read a prophesy of Christ receiving wounds in the house of a friend. We know this came to pass when Christ was betrayed by Judas, and crucified by the very people he came to minister to. We all have suffered wounds, but Jesus bore the scars so He could heal us of our wounds.

Also known as the wise men, the Magi play a vital role in the story of Christ's birth. Their wisdom was not found in who they were, but in what they did—their faithful pursuit of the Savior.

What can we learn from the message of Christ's arrival? It was a glorious revelation given to the lowliest of people—shepherds who were faithful and watchful. In the same way, though we may feel unworthy of the message, we are called to be devoted messengers of Christ's soon return.

Now arriving at the birthplace of Christ, we discover that His resting place was a stone manger used for feeding animals. Yet within this humble setting lies a profound picture filled with meaning for every Christian.

Continuing Pastor Evans' Christmas series, this message highlights God's providence in leading Joseph and Mary to Bethlehem through the taxation decree, as well as the challenges they faced along the way. What a marvelous God who works all things together for good according to His perfect plan!
