God is able to sovereignly use suffering, unfaithfulness, and conflict for His good purposes.

We are a people in desparate need of a deliverer who is not bound by death.

In any circumstance, no matter how deep and dark it seems, there is forgiveness. Psalm 130 is a song we sing with believers as we trek through life, reminding us of the hope we have, and the plentiful redemption and grace offered by Jesus.

We have great reason to be the most patient, prayerful and praise-giving people. We have a great God who gives great deliverance in whom we have great faith.

God’s abundant mercy over our sin and sinfulness restores us to communion with the Father and overflows to proclamation in mission and worship.

True repentance involves confession of sin and sinfulness.

Confession brings sin out of its hiding place and enables the sinner to take sides with God against it and join God in His victory over it.

Psalm 84 is a meditation on the beauty of God and the blessings of God for those that seek him. This psalm turns us away from ourselves and our idolatry, and instead points us to the source of all truth and beauty: God himself. It shows us that God is beautiful because of his providential care and promised redemption which is found in Jesus.

The refugee who authored this psalm finds himself to be an heir, and his inheritance to be eternal and completely satisfying. Such is true for the follower of Christ.

Confession, humility, and trust are necessary ingredients in receiving God’s guidance.

Those who have been made righteous are brought safely into God’s presence.

We are invited to worship God who is made known to us in suffering and in victory.

Followers of Jesus should anticipate two things: Great suffering and great love from Jesus.
