Whiskey And Walkers

We went to San Diego and had the best time ever. The Nerd HQ panels made us happy every day, and they had multiple bars!  We saw William Shatner, Bryan Cranston, Josh Holloway, and Nathan Fillion - plus many, many more. We love them all so much we tried to book a room for next year and it's already booked up! Insane. Please help if you have tips.    

There was lots of cocktailing over the 4th of July - and some amazing signature bevs were created. Thankfully neither of us was lighting fireworks or making major life decisions. Joe Manganiello is awesome. Some more. In new ways. We love you Nerdist. AND MK finally hops on the Orphan Black train. Choo Choo!  

MK had a crazy weekend of disaster drills with the LAFD, and a 3 hour Krav Maga class that almost broke her. The good news? She can teach us how to destroy a 6'4" dude in a padded suit and carry humans from trains on stretchers. It's almost 4th of July! What are you guys drinking for the holiday? Plus Comic-Con and Nerd HQ are next week - do you have your Conversations for a Cause panels selected? So excited! AND we almost made it a whole week without discussing Andrew Lincoln, but we just couldn't do it. Well, MK couldn't.  

This week we share discoveries from our recent viewing of World War Z, as well as more prep tips. Where to buy the best tarps? We've got it.  

How about that 4pm earthquake? We are still scared, but at least we have our backpacks ready! Tom Hardy is so hot. Gin Fizz anyone?

This week we drove all the way to NoHo to meet with Aidan Demarest - one of Los Angeles' finest cocktail connoisseurs in his new bar in conjunction with Little Tony's. The atmosphere is fabulous, the drinks are delicious, and Aidan is flipping hilarious. You'll never get disaster cruise ship advice like this, people. 

Mary Kay saw Mad Max : Fury Road and can't stop talking about it. Sarah stayed up late watching the Mad Men finale but MK went to bed early, so... None of this keeps us from talking about booze and fire safety. There may or may not be several references made to Tom Hardy's handsomeness and Charlize's badassness.  

Do you love The Rock? Are you terrifyed of THE BIG ONE? Watch the San Andreas trailer and be very very very afraid.  It's almost as terrifying as the CERT video MK watched during her class. Yikes. Let's have a margarita and discuss - we are very thirsty. 

MK and Sarah are getting excited for Comic Con and can't wait to Periscope the parties, plus MK begins her CERT training this week and has no idea what to wear. Thoughts? I mean, aside from the fanny pack...

The Walking Dead has come to it's season's end, sniff sniff, but we console ourselves with booze and a fascinating interview about disaster preparedness. I think my disaster kit has some water and camping food from the mid 1990's - oh no.

We definitely touch on several things - not that we remember all of them. One thing is for sure - there's mention of James Franco, bubble wrap and Costco. Walking Dead is a constant because Daryl wears leather vests and has kinda nice shoulders.
