Solemnity of the Ascension with Fr. Daniel Kelley. Our Easter season continues today with the great celebration of the Ascension of our Lord into heaven. Often we don’t know what we are capable of until we have to take responsibility for something ourselves. Perhaps Jesus knew this trait of human nature when he chose to leave us on our own. Of course, he promised the Holy Spirit to help us. Our prayer together today can be that we will be faithful witnesses to all that God has done for us.

Friday of the Passion of the Lord  (Good Friday) with Fr. Daniel Kelley. As we continue our celebration of this sacred three-day liturgy, we are invited to ponder what great love God has for us, that God’s only Son endured this Passion for us and for our sins. Let us listen to the story of this amazing love, which begins with the words of Isaiah describing God’s suffering servant and Saint Paul’s proclamation of Christ the High Priest. Let us be moved by this great love that will end not in death, but in victory over death, and allow ourselves to be transformed and freed from our sins. Palm Sunday Homily by Fr. Daniel Kelley, pastor at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arlington, TX. We have spent this Lent in prayer and sacrifice. As we gather here today, we will bless these palm branches and carry them high in honor of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Let us carry with us throughout this holiest of weeks this sense of honoring our Lord as we retrace his steps through Jerusalem to Calvary. May these palms be reminders to us not of our failures and sins, but of Christ’s great victory over sin and death, and his rule over our hearts for ever.

Perhaps we haven’t done everything we had hoped we could do when Lent began. If we take today’s liturgy to heart, we just might see that we can’t do it alone. We need the help of our loving and merciful God, who opens up paths in even the most difficult ter¬rain. 4th Sunday of Lent by Fr Daniel Kelley pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arlington, TX. We rejoice this Laetare Sunday, at the halfway mark of our season of Lent. Not because we have less than three weeks of Lenten sacrifices remaining, but because our celebration today reminds us that God is always ready to forgive, always willing to be reconciled with us. How have our Lenten disciplines opened us up to the wonder of God’s rec¬onciling love? How are we willing to be likewise reconciled with our loved ones, our neighbors, and even those who have hurt us?

3rd Sunday of Lent Fr. Daniel Kelley homily. Now into the third week of the Season of Lent, our Sunday Gospel prepares us to hear Lent's call to conversion and repentance. Today's reading is found in the chapters of Luke's Gospel that describe Jesus' journey to Jerusalem. During this journey, Jesus teaches and heals. He must also respond to those who question and challenge his authority and actions. There is no parallel in Mark's or Matthew's Gospels for today's reading from Luke. While Mark and Matthew describe an incident in which Jesus curses the fig tree, today's reading makes the barren fig tree the subject of a parable. Fr.
