This is the second of Jesus' "I Am" sayings. He states "I am the Light of the World". The religious leaders are offended by this bold proclamation because it is a truth they will not allow themselves to accept. As the will not believe Jesus is the Light of the World they cannot believe it and thus this truth is unable to set them free. The only truth that frees is accepted truth.

This sermon deals with one of the most disputed texts of the New Testament and the tendency to use Jesus' statement here as justification for all kinds of nonsense. Yet it is also a great example of how to handle someone caught in sin. Should we confront sin and if so, how should we confront sin? Jesus sets the example for the proper balance in John 8:1-11.

In John 7:19-52, Jesus says, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” How do we drink? How do we allow those rivers of living water to flow? After we drink is there a way we can hinder the flow of the living water? This sermon tries to answer these questions.

If Jesus told His brothers He wasn't going to the feast and then He went secretly...did Jesus lie? Of course not...but how do we explain it? This sermon discusses how Jesus divides before he unites, how the world in the church hurts discipleship, the difficulty in being considered credible without credentials and how God has a time for everything and everything has a time.

Did I decide to follow Jesus or did God decide I would follow Jesus? Is anyone able to come to to Jesus or only those chosen to come? This sermon takes a look at how reformed theologians and non-reformed theologians understand what Jesus is saying in John 6. Ultimately all agree Jesus has said we have greater needs than we know and there is a greater resource available than we could possibly imagine.

In His "Bread of Life" discourse is Jesus teaching His disciples in advance what happens at the Lord's Supper or is he merely teaching why we partake of the Lord's Supper? Various churches and theological systems have different explanations of what Jesus means by what He says in this passage.

Jesus wants to feed the 5000 men and their families, but Philip thinks the enormity of the problem precludes it and Andrew thinks the meagerness of the resources preclude it. How can Jesus get His disciples to start thinking "outside the box"?
