The international break is over, and the United States hasn't completely imploded/exploded during World Cup Qualifying. Back to the most important thing though, the Eastern Conference Final in the MLS Playoffs. It's time for the New York Red Bulls to put in work against Columbus Crew SC as they fight for MLS Cup. Leg 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals is in the books. Damien Perrinelle is out for the rest of the year. Ronald Zubar will fill in, but he picked up a yellow card, along with fellow center back Matt Miazga. Can the New York Red Bulls survive D.C. United and keep them around for the next match? Five goals were scored in the New York Red Bulls 4-1 win over the Philadelphia Union. Just four less than the number of Union fans who signed up for a bus trip. The win also featured a new MLS record, which broke one previously owned by the Red Bulls themselves. After the big win, it's onto Chicago to take on the Chicago Fire in what could be the biggest game of the year. The Supporter's Shield will be on the line as the Red Bulls and FC Dallas play a short 13 and a half hour drive away from each other to see who ends the season on top of MLS. It's double recap time for the boys, and what a better way to do it than with two 2-1 results to talk about. The New York Red Bulls ability to let us down is amazing though. The guys are joined by Joe Godino, drummer for The Menzingers, who happens to be a Philadelphia Union fan, on the show for some trash talk and seeing how a travelling musician follows his favorite team. It looks like that 5-2 loss was more of a bump in the road than anything else, as the New York Red Bulls got back on track with a 2-1 win over Columbus Crew SC. They won’t have much time to bask in the win as the team has a short turnaround with the visiting Montreal Impact coming midweek. The guys talk to Sofiane Benzaza of Mount Royal Soccer about Drogba and the matchup between possible playoff teams.

So yea, so much for Orlando City SC being worse off than the New York Red Bulls. The league of parity strikes again! The Red Bulls also got lucky with the parity, all the other teams had a terrible weekend also. So, hooray for mediocre play keeping the Red Bulls near the top of the league. Can they improve off of the 5-2 loss by taking it to Columbus Crew SC and getting a valuable three home points?

It happened! The New York Red Bulls won MLS Cup! Wait, no, they just made the playoffs. Time to celebrate though? It was a good game though as the Red Bulls took care of the Portland Timbers on the road 2-0, knocking off one of the best defensive teams in MLS. Orlando City SC comes in hot though looking to keep their shot at the playoffs alive. Can the Red Bulls beat the visiting Lions and get a season sweep on the league's two expansion sides?

Two games in a week? That means two wins right? Think again. It’s a narrow escape from the Fire but a disappointing win by the bluecoats that thwarted a playoff berth. Not to worry though, we can still find the silver lining in most things. The Red Bulls are still on the edge of a berth though as they travel to Portland to cut down the Timbers. Orlando City can also help the New York Red Bulls by not helping themselves. We talk all that and some stupid stuff in this week’s edition of the Red Bull Rant.

Toronto FC is no match for the Red Bulls as Matt Miazga adds to the number of players he keeps in his back pocket. An impressive 3-0 win over Toronto leads into a weekend without a match due to New England saluting AC/DC over MLS. Brian Lewis from the New York Post joins Jason & Truman to talk Shaun Wright-Phillip, Gonzalo Veron, and how Jesse Marsch will deal with have a glutton of players to choose from for the midfield.

3 games, 9 points, some brooms, 1 sweep, and NY is Red. Forza Lucha was a success while the New York Red Bulls completed the sweep of New York City FC and the Empire Supporter's Club supplied some brooms. An ugly fight did cast a shadow on the day but there's a lot to be happy about. Damien Perrinelle does not though, he was a naughty boy and the MLS Disciplinary Committee came down on him. Truman's Terrible Team of the Week is a new entrant and Pat rants about the US Open Cup (again). Lastly the guys talk about the upcoming match against Toronto FC.

A 3 game MLS road trip for the New York Red Bulls ended with a 1-1 draw against the Montreal Canadians, we mean Montreal Impact. Before that, the Philadelphia Union were dooped by a 3-1 scoreline as Shaun Wright-Phillips made his MLS debut. Pat and Truman went to the Red Bulls training facility for some New York Red Bulls II action while Jason regails us with his first MLS press box experience. It’s been a weird week for the New York Red Bulls. They beat Benefica 2-1 in the International Champions Cup. Sean Davis went off and played well in the Chipotle Homegrown Game. Dax McCarty went off and played well in the MLS All-Star Game. They had no MLS match to speak of, so they got to rest. Oh, they also signed Shaun Wright-Phillips, and are reported to sign a Designated Player in Gonzalo Veron. All of this while not selling off their young guys. What kind of weird nexus did we stumble into? Oh yea, Pat’s back also.

Three games in five days. Two meanful, one not so much. It doesn't matter; the boys (well, minus Pat) are here to take you through the week that was in New York Red Bulls. It’s Gold! I’t’s been 150 episodes for the boys from the Rant, but no midweek match doesn’t mean they can slack off. The New York Red Bulls lost to Columbus Crew SC but there’s more important matters in Red Bull land. There’s this newfangled thing called “Targetted Allocation” money that we need to learn more about. The date for the Red Bulls Quaterfinal US Open Cup match against the Philadelphia Union was up in the air, but not so much anymore. The Red Bulls are also involved in a parade for the USWNT, but it’s not the outrage people expected it to be. The US Men are in the Gold Cup while Kemar Lawrence, Karl Ouimette, and Roy Miller are off with their international teams. Oh, and of course there’s a match against the New England Revolution coming up also.
