H Spencer Lewis, first Imperator of the Rosicrucian Order, AMORC, wrote this remarkable description of the Essenes in 1929 as part of his book, The Mystical Life of Jesus, some eighteen years before the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Lewis’s work was one of the foundational inspirations for the modern Essene movement.

Dr. Jasmine Day was born in 1972 in Perth, Australia, and received her PhD in Cultural Anthropology from The University of Western Australia in 2002. A book based on her thesis, The Mummy’s Curse: Mummymania in the English-speaking World, was published by Routledge in August 2006. She combines a general knowledge of Egyptology (especially funerary customs and mummification) with an anthropological perspective on both the culture of ancient Egypt and modern cultures’ understandings of ancient Egypt (i.e. Egyptomania). She specializes in the study of Mummymania, the Western fascination with, and representations of, Egyptian mummies. She visited the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum on July 31, 2007, and we were fortunate enough to have some time for a conversation on her favorite subjects!

This podcast is a reading of the booklet Liber 888 and the Council of Solace, read by Lonnie Edwards, M.D. The Council of Solace is a group of Rosicrucians and others (at Rosicrucian Park and throughout the world) who meditate daily on behalf of others. The goal of the Council is to bring cosmic help to all those in need of it. The Council does this by putting certain spiritual energies into motion and directing them in accordance with mystical law and natural principles. Metaphysical aid is thus directed to individuals who petition the Council of Solace with health, domestic, economic, or other problems, and aid is also directed to those who are attuned with the Council.

Scientist David Stein leads us in an examination of our assumptions in daily life, from Physics to Spirituality, in order to assist us in realizing the actual nature of much that we overlook.
