  • Creative Riding EP 031 - WOOOOO! Then Crickets

    25/06/2016 Duração: 01h03min

Hello and welcome to Episode 31 On this episode we talk about what California is doing right, and what California is doing wrong regarding motorcycles and vehicular laws and regulation in general. Of course we have to talk about lane splitting and CARB among some other things. I also talk to Dr K again about Groms. It’s a very challenging topic as I was mostly talking to myself… I talked about last weeks show and I might as well have been talking to myself. I couldn’t take it anymore so I will paraphrase for you what we talked about. Finally, we talk about the concept of assless chaps. Are they real? Please leave a review in iTunes , on soundcloud, or the google play store. you can e-mail the show at creativeridingpodcast@gmail.com also find us at: www.creative-riding.com www.facebook.com/CreativeRidingPodcast www.creative-riding.tumblr.com @Creative_Rider on twitter and Creative Riding on G+

  • Creative Riding EP 030 Flat Track Blabbage

    21/06/2016 Duração: 01h08min

Welcome to episode 30 This was recorded on Wed. Jun 15th. Due to some copyright issues from a video that was not even used in the audio I had some trouble getting this out. Also a wildfire in the area shut down power as this was uploading...FFS!!! My resident prosthetic designer Doktor K. dropped by to chat motorcycles. Mostly Flat Track since Jared Mees announced that he would be Indian's development rider. We also chat about EBR since his discussion with the wheel nerds was really revealing, and the IOM TT.. but not very much about either. Giving a shout out to Re-Cycle Garage, we talk about RwNR from AMC. Will motorcyclists like Riding with Norman Reedus? We don't think so. • Creative Riding EP 029 The Man From The Future

    11/06/2016 Duração: 01h42min

Hey yo!!! Welcome to episode 29! I'm super excited to talk about some stuff that I did last weekend. Mostly that means talking to a man from the future. I got a care package from WI!!! Thanks Chris and Michelle! I went on a ride through Angeles Crest Forest and met a pee-er, dodged some caltrops, and watched some Road America racing. Yamaha came out with a scrambler. Ever heard of it? And then there's Dan! Find him here: @DailyBikers on Twitter, www.DailyBikers.com, www.Ducatiblog.com.au, and search Google+, Pinterst, and Etsy for Daily Bikers for more of Dan's writing and great illustrations of bikes galore. www.creative-riding.com www.creative-riding.tumblr.com www.facebook.com/CreativeRidingPodcast @CreativeRider creativeridingpodcast@gmail.com

  • Creative Riding Episode 028 There Was This Tortilla...

    04/06/2016 Duração: 01h41s

Hello, this is episode 28. There is a lot of racing going on this week, some from our friends in WI, and some from around the globe. Let's open the show with a shout out to my wife's new favorite podcast, Motorcycles and Misfits. Also lets just talk a while. I need to get my head out of work, and this weekend might be the perfect time. The L.A. MvR camp out is this weekend. Also, there's racing. Did I mention that? There's also this tortilla, but that's another story... Please e-mail the show @ creativeridingpodcast@gmail.com Leave a review on the internet somewhere. It doesn't have to be a good one. Lord knows you'd probably be lyin' if you made it sound too good. also check us out here: Facebook.com/CreativeRidingPodcast creative-riding.tumblr.com creative-riding.com and @Creative_Rider on the tweet machine.

  • Episode 026 More Than 9 Lives

    21/05/2016 Duração: 01h18min

Welcome to Episode 26! In this episode we discuss the decision of the NYPD to crush a small lot full of motorcycles in order to maintain justice on the streets of the Big Apple. There may be some mention of men in underwear and the WIR’s Top Ten List. I interview a long-time friend about their experiences on and off a motorcycle. This includes copious amounts of world travel and some sweet scooter action. There may be a few events coming up that we may or may not mention. And last but not least, I hear there’s a movie review at the end of the show. A real, live review of some shit smeared on celluloid. Boy am I going to look like a real asshole if that’s not how they make “films” anymore. • Creative Riding EP025 - I Don't Know Nuthin'

    16/05/2016 Duração: 01h03min

Welcome to episode 25.. First things first- The first 5 minutes and last 5 minutes are the best part of this show. In this episode I would have liked to bring you a brief history of motorcycling so that we could talk about the future. It turns out, I kind of go the other way. That's probably thanks in no small part to the fact that I listen to a lot of history podcasts, and they do such a great job of providing the minutia of the past in an entertaining way. Having said that, they also are good at what they do and actually research the past. I had 2 pages of notes and still couldn't get out of 1898. Fuck. As a reprieve for the historical hiatus, I try to shine a light on last episode's guest and talk about the WIR RSD drags that happened on May 7th. - Um, or 6th. You can see why trying a history podcast was not playing to my strengths. So screw it all, let's talk about fabrication a bit and some motorcycle technology. What else do we have to lose. Then it gets fun again. I hope you enjoy this week's show,

  • Episode 022- The Non - Episode

    22/04/2016 Duração: 51min

Hello!! There is a lot to get ready for this weekend. I'm heading out to the Corsa Motoclassica this weekend, and I've got to make sure the moths are out of my sleeping bag and the air mattress holds air! Some topics of today's "show": That dog video. You know the one. Let's break down what happened and why you shouldn't care. The Harley-Davidson Roadster. They've had bike called Roadsters before, but this one is a ready to turn in to a Super Hooligan or Scrambler straight off the showroom floor. MotoGP. Is that still going? Lorenzo is going to Ducati, now that Ducati is 100% different, and Marquez wins now that his motorcycle is going backwards. Toyota Connected. Toyota and Microsoft are gearing up to sell your driving habits. Find out how. Come to Pasadena tonight or go to Perris or Willow Springs this weekend. You may see me at one of those places. www.creative-riding.com creativeridingpodcast@gmail.com creative-riding.tumblr.com @Creative_Rider www.facebook.com/CreativeRidingPodcast Have a good w

  • EP 021- Spring Cleaning

    17/04/2016 Duração: 01h04min

The Solstice Slam was my impetus to do a little spring cleaning. After getting a few fresh responses and gearing up for the spring and summer myself, I decided that it was time to clear out the inbox, wipe the white boards clean, and scratch off a few notes whose ideas are never going to see the light of day, or that can be set on the back burner while I flesh them out. This episode is just an audio recorder of me cleaning out my inbox and straightening my desk up basically. There were a few thing that caught my eye and required a more profound investigation. A few of them are listed below. First and foremost is Dan Michael. Dan’s motorcycle blog and artwork can be found here: http://dailybikers.com https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/DailyBikers/?pages=2 The hot debate and outrage over ethanol in fuel may not be all it’s cracked up to be if you live in a warm climate where your bike doesn’t have to sit over the winter. • Creative Riding EP 019- 1760 - Present

    02/04/2016 Duração: 01h19min

This show is not about pelicans. How did the industrial revolution lead to idiots who can’t do math, but can play video games on their smart phones? Speaking of smart phones, what has your smart phone done for your motorcycle lately. Final thought… do girls not like math because no matter how many times you tell it that it’s wrong, it will never say, “Okay, you’re right.”? • Episode 018 - Art On Two Wheels

    26/03/2016 Duração: 01h30min

Welcome to Episode 18!! Only one episode remains until we release the Solstice Slam mayhem upon your ears! This is your final chance to submit your motorcycle related story to creativeridingpodcast@gmail.com !! Our news girl Honee Bunzz is on hiatus, so there is no news in this episode, but I'll try to talk about a few recurring topics from this week to keep you abreast. We interview artist, designer, and motorcyclist Mark Dugally. I first met Mark at the IMS Long Beach in 2010. Since then I've made it a habit to check the progress of his galleries and projects online. He lives down the street, so I thought I'd give him a visit and talk bikes, art, tattoos, and bird nests. What would this show be without a biker movie review? Probably better, that much we know. This week we give you a reprieve from the 70s garbage that we normally shove into your ear canals and bring you- Revaluation Road: the Beginning of the End (2013) This movie stars Mark A.R. White, Ray Wise, Eric and Liza Roberts, Sting from the WWE

  • Creative Riding EP017 AMAzing

    21/03/2016 Duração: 01h22min

Hey-O!!! Before we start, don’t forget the Solstice Slam! Episode #20 is fast approaching, and this is your chance to tell your story on the show! Everyone’s invited! It’s like a poetry slam, but instead of snapping fingers and hisses…. You get revvvs and smokey burn-outs as appreciation for your story. You don’t even need to be a rider – just someone who is interested in bikes. Tell us why you want to get started. Maybe you’re a vampire who has been riding for over 100 years. Let us know!!! Happy end of Bike Week to all of those who went last weekend, and to all of those that may still be incarcerated and waiting to leave the Daytona Beach area this weekend. I mention some ideas that other listeners shared about winterizing bikes, only I reverse them since it’s spring. I take a moment to talk about Lane Splitting and what’s up with this hot issue. Check out MotoLady’s facebook page to see the post that got me riled, and read the article about it. Also I talk about the helmet law, Florida, and the AMA.

  • Creative Riding EP016- Motorbikes, Music, & Migraines

    13/03/2016 Duração: 01h26min

Welcome to episode 16! In this episode we have some more technical know how for ya! We have a little news, a little interviews, and thank god – no movie reviews! The poor producer’s brain turned to mush after a decent amount of exposure to sub-par biker films. This week’s technical know how is a continuation of alignment techniques. This time we focus on the front end. Bumping over curbs, hitting potholes, crashing into an armadillo, kangaroo, or even a bear can really throw your front suspension out of whack! Riding a dirtbike or stunting can be even rougher on your bike’s forks because you know you’re going to be dropping and banging your bike around. Even mounting a new tire can cause binding in the suspension if you don’t take the time to re-adjust your shit! We’ll tell you how to get things straighter than a Texas freeway, and the Producer Guy even did the work for you and wrangled up some resources here: http://feelthetrack.com/free-vidoes/front-fork-and-wheel-alignment/ http://motocrossactionmag.

  • Creative Riding EP015 - How To Knit A Scarf

    08/03/2016 Duração: 01h25min

Hello all! Sorry this episode is so late being delivered. I felt like utter shit. I started the recording not feeling that bad due to the help of some medication, but things quickly went south. Then I went out of town for the weekend. I took my podcasting gear with me in hopes of getting the show out still, but I literally went to a barn raising. The manual labor wiped me out since I was already not feeling well, and I was asleep before the local hipsters even got ready to go out for the night. I started recording this episode Thursday, when it was sunny and 80 degrees. Today was Monday and it poured, and it included some thunder and lightning. So, for what it’s worth, my sincerest apologies. Tire swappin’: Playing with tires is a little bit like playing with your lover: You need to get them warmed up before hand. Always use a little lube and a little protection. Do a bit of prying and pulling in all the right places, and Voila!!-mutual satisfaction and smiles all around. Or you can go in like a sado-maso

  • Creative Riding Ep 014 - Technisode!

    28/02/2016 Duração: 01h23min

Welcome to Episode 14!!! This episode is brought to you by generous donations from listeners like you. Maybe… maybe not. In this episode we are looking forward to bringing you some technical information in as short a time frame as possible. There is no way to cover all the technical information that comprises your motorcycle in one hour. We’re going to start out with some simple things that are overlooked more often than they are checked. In an effort to progress down a logical path (for once!) we’ll start with your chain and end up with your death. WHOA! What the!? Yeah… you’ll see Beginning with your chain, we explain what those numbers on the package are saying about your chain. When you are looking to buy a replacement chain there is a series of numbers that appear that describe the qualities of the chain. The number sequence is usually two triplets like this : 520-130 The first number is the pitch. We’ll explain what that means. The second number is the number of links in the chain. I don’t think w

  • Creative Riding EP013 - Handwriting, Hand Signs, Handkerchiefs

    20/02/2016 Duração: 01h21min

Hello! Hello! Welcome to Episode 13. Is handwriting a fundamental skill anymore? Do we still need it in a time when everything has a keyboard attached to it? The current common core strategies that are being taught in schools don’t even address cursive writing anymore because, like calligraphy, it’s not a necessary or efficient form of communication. In the first segment we examine writing, and compare cursive writing in particular to motorcycles, since they both started their rise and evolution at roughly the same time. Handwriting teaches the fundamental skills of letter formation and gives each letter a meaning, rather than just learning where it’s position is on the keyboard. Imagine what the ABCs would sound like if a person who has only typed sang them. It would be the QWEs instead. We think that rudimentary motorcycles, like handwriting, give beginning riders and mechanics alike a good starting place to learn the basic skills and relationships that technologically-laden bikes might not. Imagine h

  • Creative Riding EP012- Do We Need More Police

    13/02/2016 Duração: 01h26min

Hello all! This week we wanted to talk about technology and bike laws… you know, interesting stuff. Instead we spiraled down a worm hole that a new-to-me podcast opened under my feet! At least we had the presence of mind to finish our talk with Chris Singsime. We had a lot of dialogue to cover, and we didn’t want to just leave last weeks episode hanging’. Honee Bunzz comes over and delivers the news despite not feeling well. Thanks Honee…. my wife made you some chicken soup!! And then…..we started listening to the Two Enthusiasts podcast that is hosted by Jensen Beeler and Quentin Wilson. If you’re not familiar with Asphalt and Rubber, you should be. It’s no surprise that this podcast follows a much more linear and logical line of rhetoric than I could ever hope to muster. The editor and creator of A&R makes presenting sound as easy as he makes writing on one of the most informative motorcycle websites look. Jensen and Quentin are able to speculate and reach into a deep well of experience to make predictio
