Welcome to the podcast of Destiny Church of Jacksonville and the second installment our series "Identity"! Pastor Chris draws today's message from the story of Gideon, and if you know anything about Gideon, you understand what it means to have anyone other than God define you and determine your value. There is so much talk of identity going around in our society; whether it's being stolen, being hijacked for political gain, or being used in a way to keep us down and submissive to the will of others. Only God has the authority and the knowledge to define us! Trust Him with who you are!

There are few things, if any, that rival the value of your identity, and that is why it's so important to have a right understanding of who you are, and more importantly, who you were created to be in Christ. Pastor Chris brings some very practical and encouraging lessons on forming a correct identity as well as expose the traps that we often fall for when we doubt our true worth. This is a timely and relevant word for today. Our world is desperate for the influence of a people who know who they are in Christ.

Contrary to popular belief, you are not just like your uncle Joey. Or your aunt Susan. As a matter of fact, although you have many similarities to others, you are completely unique and you were created for a unique purpose. Some may describe these actions as bold. But today, we're going to learn from Pastor Chris that real boldness is not arrogant or rude and is rarely easy or trouble-free. Are you ready for the second Mic Drop? This one may sting a little because at one time or another, most of us will participate in this popular cultural pastime: Complaining. It's easy to get caught up in it, especially when those we respect or look up to are doing it. But what are the effects of complaining and what does it do to those around us? Are you ready to part of the solution? Are you ready to set the benchmark in your home, workplace, or school? Do you know someone who chronically complains but you don't quite know how to approach them? This is the perfect message to share with them!

I'm sure you've heard them before; bold statements or one-liners delivered in such a manner that there just isn't any room for a comeback. Jesus was absolutely a master of this type of powerful statement, and many of our core beliefs are hung on those statements. Today, Pastor Chris starts us on a new series "Drop The Mic" and we are going to take a few weeks to explore some of the most radical phrases ever uttered, so gather some friends and listen with us!

As the Body of Christ, we are empowered and inspired to do some pretty amazing things. Consider the sheer scope of missions going on around the world that have been sent out by the American Church to serve and disciple those who may have never heard of Jesus. But how about here at home? We are in a battle for the hearts, minds and souls of those around us, and in many ways, the world is doing a better job at loving and accepting than The Church. But Pastor Chris brings home 3 simple ideas that can revolutionize the way you minister to the people that you are around every day. It's time to turn the tables and out-love the world!

It seems that there are no shortages of causes to throw your passion, reputation, and resources behind, especially during this politically charged season.
