Inclusion programme coordinator and TLC distance delivery mentor Marcel Baaijens shares his background story, his insights about teaching and his own unique creative practice.

Emma is the Senior Curator of the Dowse Museum in Lower Hutt and Manager of the Programmes team. Her background is extensive in arts management, she is a former Director of Artspace Auckland and Curatorial Director of Te Tuhi Centre of the Arts. Her passion for curating comes from her belief in working with artists and providing space for experimentation and risk. James Henderson is a TLC Graduate with an interest in tattoo art and surreal painting.

Juliet is a TLC Graduate. She talks about her time at the Learning Connexion as a certificate student focusing on photography. She has just written and directed her first feature film called ‘Existence‘, which premiered at the NZ Film Festival.

Mike is a graduate from the Learning Connexion School of Art and Creativity. He specialises in hard stone sculpture and he has created a number of impressive public sculptures. In this podcast Mike talks about his work and how he has sustained his creativity since leaving art school.

Melina Martin graduated from The Learning Connexion after her Honours year, majoring in design and painting. Since then Melina has set up a shop on Willis Street called 'MadeIt' which specialises in selling handmade goods from around New Zealand. She talks to our students about how she sustains her creativity after leaving TLC and the practical side of setting up her own business. Hosted by Dan Wilkinson.

Fresh from their ‘Illustrator’ exhibition, TLC graduates and twins Alan and Dennis Poole came from an academic background, when they both discovered the Learning Connexion. They have re-ignited their passion for art and in particular, for commercial illustration.

Mia Hamilton talks about fitting in study around her responsibilities and how she discovered her creative side at the Learning Connexion. She talks about a one year ceramics residency and how she maintains her life as an artist after The Learning Connexion (small bit of distortion at the beginning- but it comes right).
