The book is called Reflections upon the 50th anniversary…Jack Kerouac’s On the Road. The discussion covers Kerouac’s influence on their own work and lives to his influence on writers, artists, and musicians since On the Road was published by Viking in 1957. Norb, Ron and Rob all have written pieces and artwork in the book which includes 43 other national and international writers, artists and photographers, including individuals from Door County. Lawrence Ferlinghetti, proprietor of City Lights Bookshop and Publishing House in San Francisco and acclaimed poet created the cover illustration especially for this book. 04/02/2007Barbara Luhring goes on the road to Sturgeon Bay for a talk with singer/songwriter pat mAcdonald about Steel Bridge SongFest III. This year’s SongFest takes place June 9-16, 2007 in Historic Downtown Sturgeon Bay. Headlining artists include Jackson Browne, Jane Wiedlin, Stan Ridgeway and Grant Phillips. During the interview they are joined by Pat’s sister Christie Weber, who discusses the purpose of the festival – to raise money for the repair and upkeep of the historic Michigan Street bridge in Sturgeon Bay and Adam Macintosh, a singer/songwriter from Denver who took part in the songwriter’s Construction Zone at the Holiday Motel last year. On-the-Road: Isadoora Theatre Company rehearses for their biggest show ever in their five year history
29/01/2007Isadoora Theatre Company celebrates its 5th birthday with a blockbuster production of Chicago to be performed at the Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek.
