Did you know 76% of men feel A LOT of pressure to provide for their family financially, and that has only been compounded by the global pandemic of this past year? According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 18.3 million children, 1 in 4, live without a biological, step, or adoptive father in the home. Without a father, children are: 2x's more likely to drop out of high school, 4x's more likely to live in poverty, 7x's more likely to become pregnant as a teen, more likely to face abuse and neglect, develop behavioral problems, commit crimes, abuse drugs and alcohol and go to prison (280% more likely to carry guns and deal drugs).(fatherhood.org) Many of us are carrying deep wounds from our earthly father that we have transferred to our heavenly father. We might not say it this way, but we act as if God is going to behave with the same character or lack of character that we experienced from our own dad. "Jesus told them this story: “A man had two sons. The younger son told his father, ‘I want my share of your estat

Welcome to a River Kids Sunday! This week, Pastor Mark and his Kids Team are talking about confidence and learning to see yourself the way God sees you! In Joshua 6, we hear about a man named Joshua. Joshua was faced with a difficult situation and had to put his trust in God. Would he be confident in the goodness of the Lord? "I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living." - Psalm 27:13 "Wait for the Lord. Be strong and take heart." - Psalm 27:14 Joshua had confidence in serving the Lord and knowing that God loved him and saw him for who he was.

  • If I Only Had...

    23/05/2021 Duração: 38min

"Some time after this, Jesus crossed to the far shore of the Sea of Galilee (that is, the Sea of Tiberias), and a great crowd of people followed him because they saw the signs he had performed by healing the sick. Then Jesus went up on a mountainside and sat down with his disciples. The Jewish Passover Festival was near. When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?” He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do. "Philip answered him, “It would take more than half a year’s wages to buy enough bread for each one to have a bite!” Another of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up, “Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?” Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” There was plenty of grass in that place, and they sat down (about five thousand men were there). Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed

  • Livin’ on a Prayer (Model Prayer)

    19/05/2021 Duração: 25min

This lesson talks about how we can connect with God. It shares how we can pray at any time and that Jesus loved to pray. The story teaches that Jesus would slip away from the crowds to be alone and talk to Hs Father, God. There was one day that one of Jesus' disciples asked Him, "Lord...teach us to pray". Jesus answered His friend with a simple example. The example God showed them is the prayer found in Luke 11:2-4. It is good to memorize this prayer, but we don't have to stick with those exact words to pray right. We can take the same ideas from Jesus' prayer and make them our own, as we pray to Him. Jesus called God "Father"; we can, too. He is our perfect Father who loved us, no matter what. God deserves to be honored. God made heaven and Earth, made us in His image. We ca take time to honor God and thank Him for all He's done for us. God is our King. He is our King. He is in control; He has a good plan for our lives. God's "kingdom" means that things happen the way God planned for them to happen. We're as

  • The Beauty Between

    16/05/2021 Duração: 28min

Life. There is a beginning and and ending. In the middle - we face many unknowns. In the middle, there is beauty between. Throughout the Bible, we read many stories of characters that were stuck in the middle of their story for a very, very, long time. Noah spent years building the ark, before even one rain drop had fallen. Finally, God made a covenant with Noah in Genesis 9, after the rain subsided - God made a promise to Noah, that he would never destroy the earth with a flood again, and as a sign of the covenant, he gave Noah a rainbow. God promised promised Abraham that He would lead him to a new land, that he will give Abraham this land as an inheritance, that he will give Abraham a son to call his heir, and that Abraham’s descendants will be a numerous as the stars in the sky. "This is my covenant with you and your descendants after you, the covenant you are to keep: Every male among you shall be circumcised. 11 You are to undergo circumcision, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me a

  • Mother's Day Message

    09/05/2021 Duração: 36min

Fathers lead. Mothers love. Children obey. There is nothing like the power of a mom! "...and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. When she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him for three months." -Exodus 2:2 (NIV) "Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this baby and nurse him for me, and I will pay you.” So the woman took the baby and nursed him." -Exodus 2:9 (NIV) 1.) Mom's are super models. - A mother is constantly modeling on the run way of life. Your kids are watching what you do, what you say, how you act, and what you think! Children will wear your attitudes, your values, and your relationships with others. "By faith Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict.By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin." -Hebrews 11:23-25 (NIV) 2.)

  • Deep Things

    02/05/2021 Duração: 40min

"But Moses said, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else.” -Exodus 4:13 NIV "From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands." -Acts 17:26 NIV Oftentimes, we judge based off our our experience of things. God wants to provide for you an experience that makes you say, "wow!" When Jesus says “follow me,“ we find out firsthand. "When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen." -Luke 19:37 NIV ..."and a great crowd of people followed him because they saw the signs he had performed by healing the sick… From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him." -John 6:2, 66 NIV Is there a purpose for your life? Are you finding all the things you're searching for? The christian life is split into two parts - BC & AD. We shared of

  • Come to Me

    25/04/2021 Duração: 40min

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." -Matthew 11:28 (NIV) "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." -Matthew 6:33 (NIV) "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me." - Matthew 11:28-29a (NIV) "because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.” -Luke 1:78-79 (NIV) Am I full of peace? Am I full of rest? If not, Jesus says, "Come to Me" When we follow Christ, we will find rest. In this passage, Jesus is saying, "if you want peace, put on my yoke." What can "putting on a yoke" do? • One ox can pull 8000 pounds • Two ox bridled together can pull 26,000 pounds What does the representation of a yoke look like in relationship to our christian walk? 1.) A yoke is a learning tool. - Take my yoke

  • The Requirement of Rest

    21/04/2021 Duração: 23min

We believe God created us to live in relationship with others so that we can grow in our faith, receive care in life’s ups and downs, and serve others. Connection is part of our design, but meaningful relationships aren’t always easy to find. That’s why Life Groups exist—to make these life-changing connections relevant and accessible to you. There are things we learn from Jesus by what he taught, and other things we learn by what he did. We are simply trying to read through some of the scriptures and challenge us to understand the lessons that Jesus’ words and life were teaching. We want to see the big picture in the story. We began this series in chapter 4, speaking on the subject of identity. How the enemy many times gives us a false identity. Last week we hit on importance of healthy relationships. So tonight we are going to read through part of Luke 6. And see what lessons Jesus has for us! For more information, please go to https://riveroflifeag.org/lifegroups.

  • Say Yes

    18/04/2021 Duração: 46min

God often speaks to people or calls them to something that doesn’t make sense. It may scare them to death because its not within their means or resources. God just say follow me and trust me. God spoke to Abraham and drew him out of his comfort zone. When Abraham said yes, he saw God in every aspect of his life and then he began to live life to the fullest. Moses was a murderer on the run in the wilderness. God called him out and began to reveal to him the plans and purpose He had for him. Moses argued with God about his qualifications. He put up a fight, and argued about his ability! When he finally surrendered and said yes, miracles happened. He put his faith in a God who called him and stepped out. "Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God." -Exodus 3:1 NIV  1.) Is there something I know God‘s been asking me to do? 2.) When’s the last time I asked God, “Is there anythi

  • The Obvious Does Not Obligate God

    11/04/2021 Duração: 35min

Pastor Randy Ruiz is a traveling evangelist who teaches on healing and prayer. This weekend, he joined us at River of Life Church to speak on the biblical truth of who God is and what He can do through the power of His Holy Spirit. We serve a God of patterns. In each of the scriptures below, we see that God PASSES BY. "And she said to her husband, “Look now, I know that this is a holy man of God, who passes by us regularly." -2 Kings 4:9 (NKJ) "They told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.”- Luke 18:37 (ESV) "Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through." -Luke 19:1 (NIV) "He saw the disciples straining at the oars, because the wind was against them. Shortly before dawn he went out to them, walking on the lake. He was about to pass by them," -Mark 6:48 (NIV) "On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.” -John 7:37 (NIV) There is a Biblical Truth we're experiencing today - the obvious need does not obligate God
