As we finish out chapter 9 of John's gospel, we see Jesus looking for the blind man after he had been kicked out of the temple by the Pharisees. Pastor Sean reminds us that we can never out sin God's grace.

The Pharisees continue to question the blind man who now sees them in a new light, literally and figuratively. Pastor Sean challenges us to have share the gospel with those around us who do not believe and gives practical advice and encouragement on how to do just that. 

In chapter 9 Jesus answers a question about the sin that led to a man being blind from birth. "It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him." What do we do with the question of suffering when we know and trust in the goodness of God? Why doesn't He always heal? Sean walks through this passage with personal insights that lead to Biblical truth.

As we finish chapter 8 in John's gospel, Jesus makes the claim that He is God very clear with His comment in v. 58, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am."

Jesus continues to confront the Jewish leaders with the truth of who He is as we continue in John 8:31-47. He makes it clear that being good will never be enough without faith, which they lack! We are encouraged to respond in three ways. 1. Examine our faith: have we confessed our faith in Jesus and been set free from the bondage of sin? 2. Share the Gospel: we need to not only share the gospel with those who don't believe but with other believers to strengthen our faith in Him. 3. Stay faithful: Acts 2:42 gives us the best prescription to remain in Christ. "And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers."

We are in week 30 of our deep dive through the Gospel of John. Jesus continues to make bold claims about who He is.

Pastor Sean continues through the Gospel of John looking at the familiar account of Jesus' encounter with the woman caught in adultery.

As we continue through John's gospel, Jesus boldly announces that "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink." His invitation is for all, yet all do not come. Do we realize our need for Jesus in light of our sinfulness? Are you thirsty? Only Jesus offers living water that completely satisfies!

As we continue through John's gospel, we see Jesus confront a culture that was built around God but did not know Him. How different are we today? Do we do the church thing but miss on the most important aspect of it all, Jesus?

This week as we look at John 7:14-24, we see Jesus' command of God's word. As we grow in our faith, there is nothing that can replace time in the Bible to grow to be more like Jesus. We will become transformed by what influences us the most.... If we aren't spending time in the Bible, we will not have a biblical worldview. How often do we read the Word?

As we continue through the Gospel of John in chapter 7:1-13, we see a conversation between Jesus and his brothers that reveals what can become a stumbling block to us even today. Do we focus on the event that we call church more than Jesus? When our focus is on Jesus, we are reminded that we are the church, and we need share the gospel!

As we continue through the Gospel of John, we look at how Jesus changes our view of religion while cultivating a relationship with His followers so that they might come to faith. Does our relationship with Jesus draw us closer so that we come to believe and know that He is the Holy One of God, or do we walk away because what He is asking is offensive?

As we continue going through the Gospel of John, we examine the doctrine of Sola Fide (Faith Alone) through the teachings that Jesus gave in 6:22-59. Jesus explains that He is the better Moses, but their traditions blind them from understanding this basic teaching. We come to Jesus through faith alone...where is our faith?

As we continue through the Gospel of John, we look at 6:16-21. Pastor Sean examines four truths in this passage. Sometimes obedience leads to difficulty. Jesus is with us through our hard times. Sometimes Jesus places us in hard times. There is blessing in obedience. The question we need to wrestle with is this... Are we O.K. with Jesus allowing storms in our life?

After claiming to be God and revealing the reasons to the Pharisees, Jesus displays in action what He revealed in words. Jesus showed that while God had once used prophets; Jesus, God incarnate, had come to do the work Himself. Are we ready to follow His leading while looking to the promise of heaven?

Jesus continues to confront the Jewish leaders with the truth of who He is by pointing out 4 witnesses of Him they should be able to recognize. Sean unpacks how things are still quite similar today as he breaks down John 5:30-47.

Last week, we saw that Jesus infuriated the Jewish leaders with a claim they understood as Jesus being equal to God. In John 5:19-29 we see that Jesus doubles down on that claim. He further claims that He is equal to God in His work, will, judgment, receiving of worship, words and authority; Jesus is God.

As we continue through John in chapter 5, we see another encounter where Jesus shows compassion and heals, the Jewish leaders show contempt and seek to persecute Jesus, and the healed man shows complacency even after the miraculous healing. Pastor Sean breaks it all down.

As we celebrate our risen savior, we examine the "joy that was set before Him," and examine where we find our joy. Let's commit to letting His joy be our joy as we follow not only our savior but our Lord!

As we continue through John's Gospel, we see another unlikely encounter Jesus had with a man whose faith grew from belief in a miracle worker to belief in a savior. Where is our faith in Christ today?
