This week on #IntotheCosmos, we expand the discussion about the state of soccer in the United States as we bring in Peter Wilt as our guest today. Peter Wilt's career has centered on the growth and stabilization of soccer in this country, and his body of work has led to the success of Indy 11 and the Chicago Fire among many of his accomplishments.  As the discussion continues, the Cosmos still face uncertainty about the future home of the club, with this likely being the last season played at Hofstra University and Shuart Stadium. Regardless, IT IS GAME DAY in Cosmos Country, as the Cosmos head to Wakemed to take on the Carolina Railhawks as one of four matches slated for Wednesday around the NASL.

This week on #IntotheCosmos our hosts Ej Garr and Frank Dell'Apa review the big win over Minnesota this past weekend, and welcome Cosmos midfielder Ruben Bover to the show. Ruben's pass to David Diosa provided the only assist of the night in a 1 - 0 win that has the New York Cosmos perched atop the NASL Fall and Overall standings in the NASL. The guys welcome Ruben Bover for his first appearance of this season on the show, and certainly offer praise to the 24 year-old Spanish native who hasgrown tremendously over the last year. From the MVP of the inaugural Cosmos B season, to becoming a pivotal piece of the first team, Bover's composure and ability becomes more evident with each start. The Cosmos host the Edmonton Eddies this weekend at Shuart Stadium with a 7 PM kickoff, leaving the team with only two remaining home games to play down the stretch. This week on #IntotheCosmos, hosts Ej Garr and Frank Dell'Apa welcome Alexis Velela to the show after making his professional debut for the NY Cosmos this past weekend against Ft. Lauderdale. Alexis has spent time with the U-17 and U-18 U.S Men's squads, and has been with the Cosmos since August of 2015. The Cosmos escaped Ft. Lauderdale with a point after the 0 - 0 draw, leaving them on top of the NASL fall table by 3 points, while maintaining a 4 point lead in the combined standings. With two home matches on back-to-back weekends against Minnesota and Edmonton, the Cosmos look to continue to set the pace towards the playoffs. It is Cosmos Boot Camp Weekend as well as Military Appreciation Night at Shuart Stadium, so get out and support the club and be there for the 7PM kick off.

This week the guys welcome Jimmy Maurer back to the show, making his second appearance of the season, and fifth overall in the last 3 years. Jimmy started his Cosmos career with a clean sheet in 2013, and he is now the modern-day record holder in the NASL with 33 shutouts. Ej and Frank also discuss the NASL table after this past weekend of play, as the Eddies find themselves atop the spring standings, and also on top of the overall standings. Colin Campbell was sent off the pitch for arguing with the officials, and Coach Gio was more than critical of the referee with his halftime comments. This week the guys welcome back Jimmy Mulligan to the show, as the Medford, Long Island native recently returned to the Cosmos after a stint on loan with Swope Park of the USL. The Cosmos look to extend their unbeaten streak at home this weekend, while also seeking some revenge on Rayo OKC after their last meeting which saw the Oklahoma outfit taking a 3 - 0 win over the Cosmos. After a tough ending to the Tampa Bay match, that ultimately left the Cosmos with a point from 2 - 2 draw this past weekend, the boys in green look to rebound tonight in Edmonton, with three points on the line, and a long plane trip home. Andres Flores makes his first appearance of the season, as he is out with an injury he sustained in the Jacksonville match, in which he scored the first goal in the 3 - 0 win. The Cosmos return home on July 30 to face the new arrivals to the league, Puerto Rico FC, so come out to Shuart Stadium, and get your first look at the new club to the NASL.

Brian Holt joins us after picking up the win in net for the Cosmos, and we discuss his college days at Creighton University, where he still sits among the team leaders in the history of the school. The Cosmos face Miami this weekend in the Sunshine State, and have a gruelling schedule over the month of July, which amounts to seven games to be played as the summer heats up. Composer, musician, and producer Megan Cavallari has a knack for creating music that industry legend Richard Kraft recently called “amazing and earworm candy.”  From film and television soundtracks to stage musicals to being the official composer of the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, the award-winning Philadelphia native has managed to land at the top of a her profession (despite the fact that less than 1% of all professional composers are females). She’s beginning her tenth season with the LA Kings – perhaps her favorite gig because of her passion and dedication to ice hockey (she regularly plays left wing in a men’s league).  Cavallari is also a committed vegan.  While raising an eleven year old daughter with juvenile arthritis, Cavallari has also launched the Talk Foundation Project, where she records the thoughts and observations of terminally ill children. This week on #IntotheCosmos, our hosts Ej Garr and Frank Dell'Apa bring you all the news and info you need to know about the New York Cosmos, as the team arrives to the Round of 16 in the U.S Open Cup for the second consecutive season. After advancing past NYCFC again on June 15, the Cosmos will be playing host to the New England Revolution of MLS at Belson Stadium on the grounds of St. Johns University at 7:30 PM on June 29. The Cosmos open the Fall portion of the campaign on July 2, as they host Ottawa at Shuart Stadium while acceptng the fact that Indy Eleven came away with the Spring title. The guys welcome Cosmos captain Carlos Mendes to the show for the first time this year, as his experience against the Revs in his seven-year career with the Red Bulls, provides a bit of insight to what we can expect in the Open Cup, while discussing the state of the club, what the fans support means to him, and how being a dad is getting better by the day!

We sit down with David Diosa this week, as the Colombian native is certainly proud of his nation after securing advancement in the Copa America with only two matches played in group stage.
