Aaron Grabau (Taipans Legend) on the first 15 years of the Cairns Taipans and his NBL career

Mark Leader (North Melbourne Giants) on the 1989 and 1994 NBL championships
11/04/2021 Duração: 53minMark Leader joined the Devonport Warriors NBL team in 1983 after graduating from Western Oregon University. A 6 month holiday in Australia that turned into a 12-year NBL playing career that included championships in 1989 and 1994 with the North Melbourne Giants. Leader, who is the only Giants player to be a part of the two title runs, he also captained the squad from 1993 to 1995. After his career Leader turned his hand to coaching, first with the Giants NBL program as an assistant under Brett Brown and then as head coach of the Ballarat Miners and Geelong Supercats in the state league where he won national championships at both clubs. Dejan Vasiljevic (Sydney Kings) on his rookie season so far...
28/03/2021 Duração: 39minDejan Vasiljevic played his junior basketball with the Melbourne Tigers program before accepting a scholarship to attend Basketball Australia's Centre of Excellence and shortly after the University of Miami. Vasiljevic graduated in 2020 band declared for the NBA Draft but with COVID-19 cancelling any opportunity for NBA teams to see players work out prior to the draft his stock plummeted. Luke Nevill on his NBL career, NBA experiences and the decline of the big man
02/03/2021 Duração: 01h17minLuke Nevill grew up playing basketball for the Stirling Senators in Western Australia. After struggling to get noticed by elite coaches in Australia he moved to the United States to play high school basketball with Kell High School in Marietta, Georgia. It didn't take long to be noticed by the University of Utah and accepted a scholarship in 2004. He decided to redshirt his first year as a Utah Ute and developed his skills during training sessions against fellow big man Andrew Bogut. With NBA interest growing around Nevill he decided to return to college for his senior season, leading the Utes to the NCAA Tournament. At the conclusion of the season, he was named the Mountain West Conference Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year after averaging 16.8 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 2.7 blocks per game. Adam Caporn (Basketball Australia Centre Of Excellence Coach) on future Aussie NBA talent, changes to the AIS program and his NBL career
23/01/2021 Duração: 01h11minAdam Caporn is the current head coach of Basketball Australia's Centre of Excellence and an assistant coach with the Australian Boomers. Caporn was Australia's first player recruited to Saint Mary's College of California which lead to an influx of Aussie talent through the doors of Saint Mary's that included NBL and NBA stars like Daniel Kickert, Patrick Mills, Matthew Dellavedova and Jock Landale all play for the Gaels. Caporn returned to Australia after two seasons in California to play three seasons with the Wollongong Hawks (2003-06) and three seasons with the Perth Wildcats (2006-09). After retiring at only 27 years of age he returned to Saint Mary's as an assistant to head coach Randy Bennett, who had recruited him to the Gaels a decade earlier. Luke Schenscher on guarding Shaq, 2004 Final Four and his NBL career

His rapid development earnt him a scholarship to Georgia Tech University and then played two NBA seasons, one with the Chicago Bulls and the other with the Portland Trailblazers. The Oklahoma native carved out an impressive college career, playing alongside Blake Griffin at Oklahoma University, reaching the NCAA Elite Eight in 2009. Cal Bruton (NBL Hall Of Famer) on the 1990 Perth Wildcats Championship
01/11/2020 Duração: 01h55min1990 marked the beginning of the most exciting era in Wildcats history after businessman Kerry Stokes purchased the franchise and moved the team into the iconic 8,000-seat Perth Entertainment Centre. The season was a turbulent one to say the least with the first controversy coming when coach Alan Black was fired and replaced by Bruton only two games into the season. The team then limped into the playoffs in 5th place and a 17-9 record. After knocking out the North Melbourne Giants in the Semi-Finals the team moved forward to a Grand Final match-up with a tough Brisbane Bullets squad featuring Leroy Loggins, Derek Rucker and Andre Moore. Joe Hurst (Hobart Devils) on 1980s Tassie Hoops and his 1988 MVP season
23/10/2020 Duração: 01h31min"Jumping" Joe Hurst played his college ball with Northwest Missouri State University, before starting his professional career for the Hobart Devils in the NBL. During his debut season, he averaged 32 points, 10 rebounds and 1 assist, 2 steals and 1 block and captured league MVP in the process. Strangely, he was left off the All-NBL First team that season and become the only MVP in NBL history to not make the All NBL First team in the same season. Hurst played a second season with the Devils in 1989, averaging 29 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 1 block per game. His numbers not quite what they were during his debut season thanks to a number of mid-season injuries. Hurst also played professionally for teams in Sweden, Iceland, Croatia, Indonesia and Portugal before playing a final season for Hobart in 1992. The history of the Nunawading Spectres in the NBL with Barry Barnes (1980 NBL Coach of the Year)
30/08/2020 Duração: 01h16minNunawading Basketball was established in 1969. In 1979, a Nunawading Spectres men's team entered the National Basketball League for its inaugural season. Barry Barnes would coach the team during every NBL season until the team decided to move into the CBD to facilitate more fans and in doing so were renamed the Eastside Melbourne Spectres. The Nunawading Spectres would narrowly miss out on an NBL Grand Final appearance due to countback in 1979 and then were runners-up in 1981 to Launceston City Casino. The Spectres' opening-night roster included Bill Palmer, Fox, Brendan Joyce, Alan Black, Dean Templeton and Barry Barnes as coach. Six men who were to play significant roles in shaping the NBL during it's for 20 seasons. Palmer became general manager of the league in the mid-90s and took the game to new heights. Fox, Joyce, Black and Templeton became NBL head coaches with a combined 565-499 win-loss record and four NBL Coach of the Year awards (two each for Black and Joyce). Among other players who wore the
