From the beginning of creation God wanted to be in relationship with us. Time and time again, He would make a way to bridge the gap and we would end up choosing something different. This week we begin part one of a two part sermon on the Good News of a new Kingdom he wants to establish.

Sometimes during the holidays we can get so wrapped up in our to-do list that we forget one of the most important points of Jesus’ birth. It is good news. Why? That’s what we talk about this week.

We all decorate for Christmas. But do we actually prepare? This week Pastor John talks about two different approaches to having Jesus arrive.

A posture of gratitude can change our entire view of the circumstances around us. This week Pastor John talks about how gratitude vs. ingratitude can change the smallest of perceptions in our broken world.

We all have that one time we were wounded in our life. Maybe it was a parent, a spouse, a mentor, or just someone you were close to. We are called to forgive them like the Lord forgave us. Just how do we do that? This week, Pastor John talks about how David was pursued relentlessly by King Saul for nothing other than Saul was a broken leader and David forgave him for trying to kill him.

In today’s political and social climate, empathy is in short supply and in high demand. As a matter of fact, it’s so rare that when you show it, people really take notice. This week we talk about the importance of empathy, how Jesus modeled it,  and how it can change the temperature of a room.

This week we welcome Rev. Dr. Fraser Venter to Living Spring Church who talks about the importance of consistency over intensity and how that can help us to be the Christian the Lord has called us to be.

As we conclude our series of Can I Change, Pastor John talks about how making up our minds before we get to a place of temptation, we can keep ourselves from stumbling more effectively. Waiting until the moment of truth to make up our minds to do what God tells us can leave us in a potentially troublesome place.

There are many commands in the Bible. What is fascinating is that the majority of them cannot be obeyed outside of community. How do you forgive someone you’ve never met? How do you serve someone when you are by yourself? This week Pastor John discusses the importance of community as we talk about our ability to change. 

What’s in a habit? Good life changing habits can transform our lives into really good realities. This week, we talk about how the smallest of bad habits can bring us to ruin.

What does it take to change? This week, Pastor John talks about how just little changes in our daily routine can have a profound effect on our future selves.

Too often we can think to ourselves that it’s just too hard to get started with changing something in our lives that we know needs changing. It starts with small steps toward a bigger goal in mind. This week, Pastor John talks about taking those smaller steps that will lead to a better “future you”.

“I want to be healthy”. But what’s healthy? “I want to be rich” But what’s rich? “I have so much to change”. Where do you start? In this sermon, Pastor John talks about why it’s essential to start with truth. When you start with truth, you end in health.

Paul tells us to pray. Continually, always, in all situations, are all some of the when and where we should pray in our lives. This week, we conclude the series of the Armor of God where Paul finishes Ephesians 6:10-18 with “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”

A sword is only effective if you know how to use it. This week, Pastor Reed talks about five principles for using the word of God well.

This week we continue our series The Armor Of God with the Helmet Of Salvation. Pastor John talks about what it means to continue working out our salvation.

Paul instructed the church of Ephesus to put on the full armor of God. One of those components is the breastplate of righteousness. As followers of Jesus, we are called to put off our old selves and put on the new. This week, Pastor John talks about what that looks like for our lives today.
