Steve reads from Treasure Island, chapter eleven in this podcast, and Becky shares a short story titled The God Gift from Passageways, a compilation of short stories by Idaho authors. The God Gift is based on an Old Testament story about the Prophet Elijah's encounter with a desperate Phoenician widow who was also a single mom. Humorous highlights include Eugene Shea poetry plus quotes that just might relate to our current political scene.

This episode features excerpts from the books we've been reading chapter by chapter on the podcast -- Treasure Island and Winds of Wyoming. This podcast takes a stroll down memory lane. Steve reads his dad's account of his long and varied life, and Becky reads her mom's Great Depression memories. Steve’s father, Finis Lyles, grew up in the south. Becky's mother, Carrol Chisholm Carey, was raised in Wyoming.
