    24/09/2026 Duração: 14min

As I always say, "Planning makes everything easier!" and nowhere is this more evident than the holiday season. I know a lot of people find the holidays stressful, but they don't have to be! In this short episode, I talk about the simple steps you can take to ensure that this season is magical for you, whatever that means to you!My books: TinyURL.com/BYWDbooksRegister for my free training Master Your Morning: Subscribepage.com/MYM

  • Episode 172 09/17/2026 [PLANNING] Emergency Preparedness for Home, Office, School, or On-The-Go

    17/09/2026 Duração: 42min

Planning makes everything easier, even emergency preparedness. Emergency Prep is one of those things that is easily ignored, but if you've ever lived through an emergency, you're glad you did it. Personally, this is one of those things that helps keep the spinning questions in my head at bay.I walk you through three steps (or maybe stages) of planning for an emergency starting with Step 1: Immediate response (requires some time but little $), Step 2: Supplies for after the initial emergency (a little time and more $), Step 3: Supplies for three weeks of sheltering in place and/or prepping your house to withstand said emergency (unlimited time and $).You can get my (admittedly earthquake-focused) printable on emergency prep here at SubscribePage.com/emergencyprepAnd if mornings stress you out, sign-up for my Master Your Morning training at https://subscribepage.com/mym---------------------------If you learned something or enjoyed this episode, send me a tip: https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/ZXBESF6H7

    10/09/2026 Duração: 41min

It's that time of year when it's time to start thinking about getting a planner for the coming year! I'm a big fan of paper planners. I've used one for over 35 years, and so I have some thoughts on what makes a paper planner perfect (say that 3x fast!)To start with, there is no PERFECT planner. The perfect planner is the one that you will use. It's different for everyone. In this episode I outline three things to consider when choosing a paper planner so that you can ensure it is perfect for you!

  • Episode 169 08/27/2026 [SELF-CARE] The Benefits (and Challenges) of "Old" vs "New" Friends

    27/08/2026 Duração: 30min

There are all kinds of friends, but one distinction can be made between people that you've known for multiple decades, whom you likely met in school, and friends you've made in the last 5-10 years.I recently became aware of this difference, and it's interesting how this categorization fulfills different self-care needs. Give it a listen as I chat with one of my dear friends, Natascha, about this realization. Are mornings stressful? Sign-up for my free training at SubscribePage.com/MYM

  • Episode 168 08/20/2026 [PLANNING] Chronotypes: What are They and How They Impact Your Productivity

    20/08/2026 Duração: 29min

Your chronotype is the label that helps describe your ideal schedule in terms of sleep and work. I'm sure that this system is partially influenced by geography and culture, so I don't like to overly generalize, but when I speak about chronotypes to American audiences, I get a lot of affirmative head-nodding.In this episode I explain how understanding your chronotype can help you lead a more productive (and dare I say it, happier?) day.

  • Episode 167 08/13/2026 [PLANNING] What to Do When Your Schedule Leaves You Anxious, Fearful, or Uncertain

  • Episode 166 08/06/2026 [PLANNING | SELF-CARE] Recognizing When You Need Rest and Planning For It

    06/08/2026 Duração: 16min

Maybe you've always been tired. Or maybe, you're just coming off a trying three, six, nine, or twelve month period where you've been going full steam ahead, and you are having trouble figuring out how to slow down.I've been in the latter, coming out of an intense 12-month period where two family members passed, long-standing relationships were rethought, major financial investments made, multiple events planned and executed, trainings and speeches delivered, a book proposal was completed, and of course, regular life was chugging along per usual.A friend of mine once told me I have two speeds: off and on, and I was having trouble switching to off after being on for so long.In this episode I discuss the changes I've made to my daily life to remedy this.FREE LIVE TRAINING Master Your Morning: https://subscribepage.com/mymRESOURCESHarness the Power of Planning waitlist: http://TinyURL.com/HPOPwaitlistWebsite: http://BYWDreams.com

  • Episode 165 07/30/2026 [SELF-CARE] How I Overcame the Overwhelm and Loneliness of Being a Mom

    30/07/2026 Duração: 21min

I only have one kiddo, although sometimes I wished I had a second so that I could implement everything I learned! Those first few years were so lonely. I was overwhelmed and didn't have a lot of resources, and it made me realize how our society doesn't support families and especially moms. Change is necessary, but cultural and legislative change moves slowly, so I figured out how to help myself. It wasn't necessarily the ideal solution, but it was the one available to me at the time. The answer was self-care.And if you haven't watched it yet, here is one of my favorite podcasts ever: Mindset Tools for Winning at Life. • Episode 163 07/09/2026 [MINDSET] My Five Favorite Tips for Keeping My Mindset Positive and Productive

    09/07/2026 Duração: 39min

If life were a video game, then the goal would be to figure out how to manage the circumstances you've been "spawned" into to be happy. So says the Art3mis character in Ready Player Two (I've paraphrased of course). I agree completely which is why I have so many tools to keep my mindset positive, because the reality is, by the time you get to my age (52), life has thrown a lot of curveballs at you and if you don't figure out how to work with them, it's easy to feel beatdown and become negative. In this episode I share with you five of my favorite mindset tips in the hopes that it will help make every day a little bit easier for you.Existential Kink https://amzn.to/3SR8IoAThe Gap and the Gain https://amzn.to/3SR8IoAFour Great Americans https://amzn.to/3SR8IoAHarriet Tubman: The Road to Freedom https://amzn.to/3SR8IoANEXT EPISODE07/16/2026 [SELF-CARE] The Brain Science Behind "Forest Bathing"RESOURCEShttp://5calls.org: make your voice heard!Season of Self-Care: https://b

  • Episode 161 06/25/2026 [PLANNING/SELF-CARE] Making Time for People Who Matter (aka: Ladies Trip!!!!)

    25/06/2026 Duração: 34min

I believe that our relationships, with ourselves and with our loved ones, are the only thing that really matters. And so much of daily life pulls us away from that, which is why it's imperative that you make it a priority through planning. This is why a few of my closest friends and I plan an annual vacation so we can reconnect, because in doing so, we are also helping to feed our own mental wellness. In this episode I'll give you three tips for how you can fit a trip with friends into your life. And get the links to my new audiobook at: BYWDreams.comNEXT WEEK06/30/2026 A Chat with Jeff Harry who wants to help you "Make work suck less!"RESOURCES5calls.org: make your voice heard!Season of Self-Care: https://bywdreams.mailerpage.com/seasonselfcareWebsite:BYWDreams.comOur books:

  • Episode 160 06/11/2026 [PLANNING] Making Invisible Work, Visible for More Effective Goal-Setting

    11/06/2026 Duração: 32min

Many people use a planner or calendar simply as a collection of due dates. They write down when something has to be turned in or completed, but not all of the steps that it will take to accomplish that task. All of those steps are what I define as "invisible work". There is a broader definition of invisible work that I believe shares some components with my definition, however, it's more narrowly used to refer to the experience of moms and caregivers, which is work that is unseen or undervalued. I believe the connection between this definition and mine, is that a lot of people undervalue or take for granted, the many steps it takes to accomplish most tasks. In this episode, I talk about learning how to recognize the invisible work in your life in order to help yourself be more realistic and prepared for any goal you set for yourself. Hopefully this will also help you to recognize and appreciate the many unseen things that happen all around you, either by your coworkers, family members, or people

  • Episode 158 05/28/2026 [PRODUCITIVTY] How I Went From Overpacking to Packing Light

    28/05/2026 Duração: 30min

I used to be an over-packer, but then a 1-month trip to 3 countries and 12 cities converted me. I didn't want to worry about losing my luggage, nor did I want to pay $1,200 in checked luggage fees, so I decided to finally conquer the skill of "packing light".In the end, it worked out really well especially as we would have missed our return flight if we'd check luggage because our first leg was so late, there would have been no time to collect our bags and go through customs. We had to JOG from our international gate to our domestic gate and arrived with only minutes to spare. In this episode, I talk about my packing light strategies.NEXT WEEK06/04/2026 A Conversation with Mark Decarlo About Happiness in the WorkplaceRESOURCESPack Light Printable: http://tinyurl.com/bywdpacklightSeason of Self-Care: https://bywdreams.mailerpage.com/seasonselfcareWebsite:BYWDreams.comOur books:

    14/05/2026 Duração: 29min

One of the defining traits of humans is that we are social creatures, and yet, how often to you prioritize quality time with people who matter to you? Self-care is defined as doing activities that make you feel good physically, emotionally, mentally, and quality time with people who matter to you is part of that. In this episode I give you a handful of ways to make sure you are making time for people you care about and one final tip about how to make space for this.
