This month we welcome seasoned New York-native, nightlife hustler, DJ and producer Morsy to the podcast. The man has played almost every room in NYC and you can hear that experience in the records that he’s released with legendary NY house labels Nervous Records and Strictly Rhythm. Rocking dance floors for over 15 years, Morsy's shared the decks with legends such as Todd Terry, Moby, KiNK, Stanton Warriors, and the late DJ AM. Kicking off the new season of podcasts, we're extremely excited to welcome Brazilian duo, @mumbaata, made up of producers/DJs Lennox Hortale and Pedro Poyart. With releases on luminary labels such as Get Physical, Dear Deer, D-Edge, Warung, and Re:Sound, they’ve quickly become one of the most respected projects in the electronic music scene in their native Brazil. Mumbaata takes inspiration from various sources including African and Brazilian cultures, electronic music, and Jazz, blending them into dance floor ready tunes and performances that cross cultural boundaries. The duo was awarded breakthrough producer at the Rio Music Conference Awards 2017 and played at the Electronica Stage in Rock In Rio 2017 Festival. Fall is officially here and we’ve got some chill vibes in this month’s podcast from two folks who have individually contributed in the past, @xanderoliver & @mtothejeezy. They’re joining forces to launch their new project, Brooklyn-based STAY DEEP, an artist collective compromised of DJs, visual artists, and photographers. STAY DEEP aims to curate unique experiences for the mind, body, and soul through music. For Episode 29 the guys have laid down an almost 2-hour long wax-only set comprised of classics, throwback house, funky grooves, and more. This month we’re excited to showcase Dischetto, our guest at this Saturday’s Subdrive party, resident of NYC’s Webster Hall Saturdays: GOTHAM, and @nesthq ’s resident head of techno. Her artist name, Dischetto, is a portmanteau of ‘dischetto’ and ‘tech’, resulting in the name: Dischetto-tech (pronounced: dis-ketto-tek), an homage to techno’s early roots in Detroit and Chicago ghetto-tech. With strong roots in and inspiration from classic electronica a la Kraftwerk, Nitzer Ebb, Depeche Mode, and Dopplereffekt, she specializes in all things electro, techno, and EBM.
