Our FEATURE today discusses the remarkable growth in jobs and wages over the past year. Almost everyone sees and hears the headline news but digging deeper portends an even more compelling case for what's ahead for the US economy. For example: Average hourly wages were up 2.7% Year over Year, joblessness amongst Blacks and Latinos are near record lows and women's unemployment is the lowest since 1953. In contrast events in southern Europe are becoming desperate. Italy has a political and economic crisis which could result in their withdraw from the European Union. Spain has 17% unemployment and their Prime Minister has just been removed from office. Questions are, will there be contagion in all of Europe? Will events there impact the US economy? We suggest that evidence indicates that things are not as stable as the politicians and the media would like us to believe.
