Our FEATURE today focuses on the major stock market sell-off that occurred last week. The "soothsayers" on Wall St were quick to respond as they always do: "You're in the market for the long term ; Don't try to time the market; Don't sell!; It's a buying opportunity ", etc. This mantra may be appropriate for those under age 60 who may live long enough for their assets to recover but what about those of us who in all probability may not live to see the market recover and will need to withdraw funds from our account to live on and for emergencies? We have suggested over the past several weeks that it was time "to take some money off the table in event the sell-off would continue". We hope that you did so.
