The Human Movement System and the Role of the Physical Therapist Response to Feedback The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) has proposed "The Human Movement System" as the primary identity of the physical therapist and the defining construct of the profession. We discussed this in the previous podcast. Sharon Dunn PT, PhD, President of the APTA, commented on our previous podcast while discussing the Human Movement System on Healthy, Wealthy and Smart - Episode 203 with Karen Litzy. The panel responds to this and other feedback received from the physical therapist community regarding the first podcast on the Human Movement System. Furthermore, our panel examines Conatus Athletics' claim : "The primary medical role, clinical foundation, and educational foundation of the Physical Therapist is Musculoskeletal Biomechanics and Physical Therapy subspecialties and modalities are a result of this foundation."
