I met Angel Garcia while we were both doing an open mic and later we were both doing guest stand up spots at Joe's on Weed St. He recorded my set with my phone from the back of the club. We bonded at that time and we later met at a couple of open mics. Angel is originally from Houston and lives in Lakeview (specifically Boystown). I am such an idiot that I assumed that he was gay based on the fact that he lives in Boystown. I have a lot of growing up to do. Angel was kind enough to share a really personal story about his past that includes a breakup, heavy alcohol use and recovery.
