The delusion was introduced so slowly and methodically through the course of the season that to have it killed off so quickly AND not have anything to do with the main plot (as far as we can tell at the moment) feels like a misstep. Farouk continues to be the show's bright spot, both in how he is played and how he is written. His weird purple smoke car time machine was a really cool piece of set design and I'm interested to see how his interactions with future Syd go forward. Maybe he kills off David and then goes wandering the wasteland of the future with Syd and they antiheroically fight monsters or something. That would be a good season three. Either that or let David do literally ANYTHING.
