Who to Recruit First – Sales or Administrator? Growing a business is hard, and sometimes you do it more than once! So, if you are starting from scratch who do you employ first? Since I started my business in 2006, I've almost had to start again three or four times. I went self-employed in 2006. I started again doing life insurance, critical illness and income protection when the credit crunch hit in 2009. I started again when I bought my business partner out in 2011. I started again in 2016 when I transferred or moved back from life insurance to get back into the mortgage market. So, I've certainly had a rollercoaster starting off my business journey, but what it's enabled me to do is given me perspective on different ways to start. Because when I initially started, I started with an advisor. The last couple of times have been with an administrator, but then the beginning of this year, in 2018, I've started with three advisors and no administrator. Who do you employ first?
